I'd like to know if there's a generic print head cleaning/wiping cartdidge- the roll of paper one it parks on, when you switch it off. We still have 30 of the L260 ink cartridges, so I'd like to get them used up... ! (and about a dozen L25500 ink cartridges & a few heads, too)

Roll direction not detected, happens to me if using banner material that you print on the underside of the roll, so feed it the other way from vinyl, and it feeds it back out and it spills forward for a bit, while sussing things out. But put a spirit level on the printer, and level it perfectly.

Put a spirit level on the top of the printer, and pack up the lower side, till it is perfectly level. That fixed it for us.

You said you changed the printhead twice- but did you change the wrong Y/K one, maybe? I'd be cleaning the contacts in the print head carriage, pretty severely. Last time my black wasbleeding into the yellow like that, it took 5 or 6 Y/K head cleanings, head wipes, and a couple or three of...

Laugh if you like, but I was using ink 2 years past the use-by date, and heads equally past it, on our HP L25500, with no problems. The console comes up with a warning that they've passed the date, you click OK, and onward you march... The L260 also has no problems.

My version of Finecut would not work past Corel X3, in Win7. I tried it in X5, and it was as good as invisible.

Headache... stinky headache, and expect a mess. :)

we replaced a PSU in our HP25500 three years ago. Cost about $250 for the PSU and about half a day of slowly unwinding the wires, swapping it out, and replugging everything back in again. Not hard, not not easy either.

50-100 meg? What physical size are they? The file size maybe the big problem.

We use Enroute, and the inlay figure you put in, is in mm, and is how much each part is offset away from the drawn line. So 0.5mm setting can give a gap of 1 mm.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I solved it by reinstalling the printer inst file, and selecting L260, instead of L26500, and it was happy. But previously, L26500 worked and 260 did not... very weird. "Phew!"...

I love it- BUT... it can't be installed on an older PC. It needs heaps of RAM, and hard drive space... but worth every cent!

It's probably set in the rip to have say 35 mm margins left & right, instead of 10mm, for instance.

I've seen it, but not bought it- our monthy limit here is 30 gig- I'd never donwload 300 gig. The $300 or $400 is also out of budget for what is apparently a great wad of stolen files, 99% of which you'd likely never use anyway.
