It all just depends on what the issue is. If the station is not working properly, it simply won't pull ink down and you slowly lose nozzles. Sometimes one side of the pump is flowing but the other isn't in which case you can get random results after cleanings with nozzles coming and going...
It's most likely cross contamination. Usually it's caused by a failing maintenance station or damper but it can also be internal damage to the head. I'd start with changing the cap top and possibly the dampers especially if they are older than 2 years. You might as we ll flush the pump tubes...
I don't want to hijack this thread too much as I think you won't go wrong with the Epson or the Mimaki but good info above from an experienced Mimaki user. I just wanted to mention that you can run without the cleaning cartridge at all and it will still print. I have many customers who...
The JV150/300 series is not yet on the end of sale list but I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up there soon. We just sold 3 units this month so they definitely still have them in stock and I haven't received a memo on them yet. You can still use the SS21 inks and I believe it has 2 i1600 Epson...
Everything in the VJ1624 that touches ink is Epson designed so I think you will find working on the Epson, and the Mimaki for that matter, will be similar. Epson does tend to jam things into small spaces so they can be harder to work on in that regard. The thing you will find hardest to find is...
Either there is a bad air leak in the system, your cartridges are not flagging empty when they are actually empty, and/or the maintenance station is not working properly. Do you see air bubbles anywhere in the ink lines above the dampers?
I have a customer who sent his vinyl to a lab to be tested and certified for safe use with children and they told him he couldn't use calendared vinyl as the phthalate content was too high. He only uses cast for that reason. But I agree with balstestrat. The inks in your SG printer are much more...
You can get a 24" Cricut or Cameo at Target these days with software for a few hundred bucks. The customer has become the competition when it comes to consumer style wall decals and t-shirts.
The nozzle check does look funky. The small gap between the patterns should be more like a stair step and not wavy. It does seem like for some reason some of the channels have flipped but I couldn't tell you what would cause that other than the main board failing but that's not guarantee. It's a...
I wouldn't call that ghosting or banding honestly. To me it looks like a processing error. Basically, the computer in the printer that processes the RIP data seems to be malfunctioning. Either that or possibly an encoder issue but I've never seen an encoder mirror an image.
Yeah something like that or maybe a bad cut strip or blade holder. There are usually alignments that can be done too. If you are print/cutting, there's an alignment for adjusting the position of the cut but also there is usually one that adjusts repeatability as well. Unfortunately I don't work...
Cutters don't have a linear encoder like printers do and depending on the manufacturer, it may not have one at all. If there is one, it's a disc inside the motor. Your issue is more likely an alignment issue or a failing part.
