  1. Drilling Stone

But if he rarely does this kind of work, which I'm assuming is the case based on... ...then there isn't a real need to go spend upwards of $200 on a drill he'll rarely use. He said he has a cordless and corded hammer drill. If he can't drill those few holes then he's using junk bits. My...
  2. Drilling Stone

I don't think Travis was the one looking for advice. Thread has taken a couple of left turns lol...
  3. Drilling Stone

He owns a hammer drill and rarely does this type of work. Why spend $180 (Amazon) when he can just buy a good quality bit? Plus, if he were to buy a corded rotary hammer, the DeWalt has better specs and is $10 less. :)
  4. "Odd" request - new standard for unisex restroom ADA signage

The ones I've installed simply contain the descriptor text "RESTROOM". The pictograms (the man, the woman, the wheelchair) imply the fact that it's accessible to all individuals. Just a heads-up, the text cannot be within the 6" pictogram field.
  5. Aluminum Extrusions?

Clarke makes some really nice stuff. I've installed quite a few of their Slatz systems. Not identical to what you drew, but a possible alternative. It's a very clean looking product.
  6. Drilling Stone

As far as I know, there are only hammer drills and rotary hammers. A hammer drill has the ratcheting action. A rotary hammer has the piston action and is far superior to the hammer drill. But even so, a good hammer drill with a good bit won't have any issues drilling what he's drilling. I'm the...
  7. I just won a bid and need advice! HELP :)

If you even quote or open an electrical sign in Texas, even for a face change, you're required to have a Master Sign Electricians license or have an Apprentince or Journeyman's license and have a Master Sign Electrician with you on-site. California is probably the strictest state in the country...
  8. Drilling Stone

What hammer drill are you using and what bit are you using? Again - there's zero reason to need a corded tool for three 3/16" holes.
  9. Drilling Stone

There's zero reason a quality cordless hammer drill with a quality masonry bit won't drill through that stone with ease. If it won't drill a 3/16" hole more than 3/8" deep, then either the drill is a cheapie, the bit is a cheapie, or both.
  10. Vacation Time - Gulf Shores Alabama Here I Come

We spent some time in Daphne and Fair Hope and went to Old Bay Steamer. It was really good at the time. ...just went to get the link and it looks like they closed down.
  11. Time controller switch - Little Giant

Looks to be used a lot for water gardens and such: click
  12. Looking to outsource job

    Try 4Over?
  13. Alumalite for routed letters???

I always forget about pads. Most of the stuff I install is drilled and tapped. The pads would work, but the edges aren't going to look great.
  14. New signs

    Awesome talent.
  15. Alumalite for routed letters???

.375" = 9.525mm (Alumalite comes in 6mm & 10mm). I don't know how you would get a stud attached to it...? The aluminum is too thin to weld to or to hold the stud. You could VHB-tape and silicone it though. Does the customer really want to see the corrugation?
  16. Brick Wall Mural

I don't think you want to lay vinyl over top of the conduit...
  17. How's your weather?

This thread could also be titled 'Why Moze Moved Away From Oswego'. Man I don't miss that a bit.
  18. Shop Truck Wrap

I don't get the water/waves. To me it looks like an advertisement for a waterpark. Eliminating that and replacing it with your services seems like it would be a better use of space.
  19. Which icon character for logo

I think it looks pretty good. Two immediate thoughts: - Just looking at the thumbnail, the eyes look a tad 'sleepy' - needs more 'bad' :) - I think it needs a partial highlight around the bottom of the hat, similar to the highlight around the horns
