For two 3 ft banners? no...

A 3'x3' banner with a taped hem and reinforced corners should be fine attached to a wall. If he's an older guy the banner tape may have shocked him a bit if he's accustomed to sewn banners. If he stiffs ya... you could always put on a pair of Clark Kent glasses and give the old curmudgeon an...

You should be getting around $25. sq ft. if not more for short run stuff like that. Looks to be about 12.5 sq. ft. @ $25. apx. $300. Don't give your work away, it hurts the whole trade.
