You need to go to the printer driver, and reset where it is to output the file to- either LPt, or Com1- it won't know which one automatically. Change it and you need to tell it. The special roland serial lead has a couple of wires crossed over- do a search here for serial roland camm1 lead...

There are lots of fire tutorials about, but that specific technique is the best, in my opinion! I use the smudge tool rather than the liquify filter- it works that way in older versions of P'shop too, which don't have liquify as an option.

personally, I have a heap of books, all good at something, but the Photoshop Bible (D McLelland) explained a lot really well- not in tutorial mode, but in theory, which I wanted. In your case, you may find if you were good at Photopaint, then it's only a matter of figuring out the differences &...

P.S. Roland don't have either manual available, so I don't feel I am violating any copyright issues, nor am I asking for reimbursement of any kind- just trying to help others with this 'obsolete' but still good machine, as someone once helped me!

HI, for what it's worth, I've been able to get the service manual for the PNC 1000. It's not the workshop/user manual- I already have that and have given it to 100s of people who've emailed and asked for it- but this is the service/repair manual, with circuit diagrams, miscellaneous tests etc...

Alternately, add a new layer to the pic just below the layers you've put effects onto, then duplicate that effected layer and merge it down (or rasterise the text & merge the text + effects layer down. That will resize proportionally, and still give you a copy of the original that you can...

OP's reply gives you the easiest way out- a pci card with lpt outputs.
