"The Font Thing" which was a free download I think from Letterheadfonts. It's good! Also Bitstream's FontNav which comes with Corel but needs to be installed speciifically.

Interesting, Fred. I've played with GIMP 2 for windows a little, and don't mind it at all. There are some very nice preset gradients with it. (You can't beat photoshop though, except maybe in the pricing!)
