  1. Roland PNC1100 Corel 12 Please Help Plotting

Hi I fixed the same problem myself last night after wondering for months... but ours is a PNC1000A. I usually plot from another program, not Corel, but everytime I tried Corel & XP, it plotted 90 degrees different from the preview window. (I have NOT loaded XP serv.Pak2 btw.) Solution- when...
  2. Roland pnc1100 and COREL12 can they get along?

where did you find the info you needed, and what did it say? I'm asking for the benefit of another possible newbie who might type the same question here in six month's time, and do a search. Thanks! (P.S. There are lots of people here who could have answered that question though, but you...
  3. Font installation...

Hi dave, I installed "The font thing" a long time ago and like it. I also sometimes have a font appear to be 'not there'. The font thing will catalogue all fonts on your computer- the installed ones, and the others that you can keep in a spare folder or folders somewhere else on your hard...
  4. Million dollar question, font viewing/printing software

"The Font Thing" which was a free download I think from Letterheadfonts. It's good! Also Bitstream's FontNav which comes with Corel but needs to be installed speciifically.
  5. Greetings.

Hi Rapid, sounds like a good name for a cartoonist! Welcome! PS nice design for your pic & good business name. (note to self- I must get rid of this ugly photo of me & put something arty there instead...!)
  6. what font might this be?

THANK YOU Fred ! (awful font imho, but I appreciate you identifying it!)
  7. what font might this be?

Has anyone seen this one before, with a legitimate name?! It's vaguely Benguit, vaguely Bodoni, vaguely Stone Serif, but not any of them. Thanks! The crossbar in the centre of the G is rather low, and I have no idea where the shadow in the top right of the first S went to, nor the serif...
  8. External Hard Drives

Jen, yes, just switching it off & unplugging it is a good safeguard! Win XP will transfer files at USB2 speed, but W98se will only let the data transfer at USB1 speed which is sssllllooowww, but still worth having! I've had no problems with ghost at all in 5 or 6 years of using it. Once you...
  9. Your Ebay Experience

bought lots, laser printers, toner, screen-printing carousel, computer parts- no problems except in buying twice from some amateur sellers who refused to sell after I'd won the item, then posted negative feedback on me- wierd- as I did nothing wrong. Don't be afraid to use the 'ask seller a...
  10. Roland PC-12 Question

I have a friend who has a PC 12 and said it's only worth using for printing white and metallics. Otherwise it's a waste. (He did recently buy a Versacamm though...) (but I wouldn't mind owning either one)
  11. Roland PC-12 Question

Oops, double post (see below...) sorry!
  12. photo printing

here's an attempt... dpi is what you get from inkjet printers when you print a picture on paper of some kind. 300 dpi is pretty fuzzy for a photo, 600 is OK depending on the original of course. It refers to how fine the print head nozzles are I think. ppi is pixels per inch which is the...
  13. File viewer for AI, EPS & CDR

ACDsee will preview eps & wmf files, but not ai or cdr.
  14. Free Photo Editing Software

Interesting, Fred. I've played with GIMP 2 for windows a little, and don't mind it at all. There are some very nice preset gradients with it. (You can't beat photoshop though, except maybe in the pricing!)
  15. These fonts as True-Type?

Great responses & thanks for the 'history' lesson from the not-so-long-ago past.
  16. Screen Printing Software

no gripes with any software- only with some due to our inexperience in new areas!
  17. Photoshop Effects

Jen, I think you're getting there faster than me! (looks good so far: a soft-edged big-sized inner bevel sort of)
  18. Photoshop Effects

Jen, after posting that attempt, I went to bed, then thought about the 'old faithful' way of designating spheres from when I was at school, by drawing a 'window with four panes' reflection on it, and I had a go at doing it,although I wasn't happy with the result, thne I logged on to find the...
  19. Photoshop Effects

something like this? It was done manually-no special filters etc.
