The roland drivers for the camm1 can be downloaded from Rolanddg.com- they're only a meg or so in size. Just probe around the site for legacy machines (old Camm-1 plotters), and your own operating system (w98, XP or whatever). Replies from them are not something I've ever received. You CAN...

I found a quick easy way was to open up flexi or Illy, and create the starburst in a vector format, manually if necessary, then cut & paste it from there into P'shop. That may seem crude but it works well. You can paste several times if needed, and you get a good sharp-edged starburst each time.

From memory, several of the old roland plotter drivers are somewhat interchangeable...so I heard somewhere.

I've heard from a few people who uninstalled the X3 demo later on, that their previous licensed working versions of Corel ceased to run normally and needed some repair or reinstallation to get back to normal. (I've not tried it myslef though.)

Fred, except for the tedium of rebooting, you could still set up a dual-boot system, and load win98 & Flexi 5.82 and use it till your heart's content! You'd need a fat 32 partition however, and a 'universal data storage' partition also in fat32 format. which can be accessed by XP as well as 98...

Get yourself an external usb hard drive box/enclosure, and put the crook hd in that, so you can try & access it via usb from a good computer.

If worst comes to worst, I suggest downloading GetDataBack for NTFS- it's a great data retrieval program- about $50 to buy, free trial downloadable. But....you've not said if the drive is spinning when the box is turned on. I'm assuming it's invisible in MyComputer or Explorer? Try a System...

I can't get to the signsbydale website in Firefox nor IE. With or without the WWW, I get 'cannot be found' message.

Alternately, position the mouse over a part of the layer you want to be on, and ctrl-click, and you'll automatically be on that layer. Move it elsewhere, like over a bit of text & ctrl-click and you'll be on that text layer then.
