  3. Need help!

The best I could do was to fine the following info embedded in the file, but I could not open it no matter what I changed the suffix to, sorry ! " q f¼TEXTART3 T-shirts artwork.ai fŠ eŠ 2 " The rest was gibberish, ie binary, hex or source code for something...
  4. Need help!

Mike, it certainly won't open as an ai file in CS2. It gives an unrecognised format message. Later I'll try renaming it as a jpg or something basic and seeing what's there, also looking at in hex format- maybe there'll be a properties line of text stating what program created it which will...
  5. Need help!

If Fred doesn't succeed, I don't know who else might, but I'd be happy to take a try for you too, if you email it downunder!
  6. Printing font examples

What font printing/viewing program are you using? You ought to be able to just select the ones you want (click, & shift-click or ctrl-click) till they're selected & print the selection. Failing that, copy/drag the ones you want to a separate folder & print the whole folder.
  7. font limitations in XP sp2 (related to Adobe CS2)

"The Font Thing" is a freebee utility. I used to use BT FontNav, but have used The Font Thing for a few years now, especially to install fonts, and have not (yet ) had any glitches in the font department at all. The Fonts folder in windows has its stable set, and when I need something not...
  8. Cutter stops cutting after so many feet

I didn't know flexi can over ride it. I can change the setting in flexi to do it, but the plotter still stops at about the 59"/1550mm mark, ignoring flexi. I've just learnt to work with that limit & you break up files to suit. Glen you can use the latest XP drivers and plot from Corel 12...
  9. NaMe ThAt FoNt !!!

also vaguely like Lucida Calligraphy Italic, but not for the C- but still waay off. I'd guess it's a hashed-up mixture? I used to know a C like that, but sorry it's slipped off this computer. It was a common enough one too.
  10. Gosh, 2 in one day!

Well the kerning needs attention, whatever font it began life as!
  11. How to install Roland Camm-1 GX-24

Maybe it's only some drivers, and maybe there's some luck too! I think the dg site is from Japan & the dga is from USA and the Jap's one was supposed to be the better- that's from a few people on another forum who've been plagued with difficulties using dga drivers. edited to add...
  12. How to install Roland Camm-1 GX-24

Niner, I'd been warned to avoid the Roland DGA site, and to get the drivers from Roland DG site. The files were not as temperamental or corrupted, I understand.
  13. What are your favorite fonts?

Stencil- weeds even easier! (not really a favourite...I really like the selections from Signfonts/ A&S-must buy some more one day!)
  14. CS help

Steve, the point I'm alluding to is that he has a question, and is not clear, to me anyway what his problem is. If explained better, more people might be able to help him more readily instead of maybe avoiding the thread because they either can't or don't want to be able to be bothered. Spury...
  15. CS help

Sorry. but I can't really understand the question...what has "CS" got to do with the question? I'm guessing this: Re wheel arches, you either work with them, or you ignore them. Windows, ditto. The choice is yours. (where downunder are you?)
  16. Help with an ugly gradiant in a print

Or is the problem some cheaper or more inferior Rip software?
  17. How do I extract in photoshop and keep just the outlined object?

In photoshop, after extracting, select the background & delete or do whatever you need. Use Selection>modify>expand to swell the selection onto the background a bit if necessary then. Use help>export transparency to get it saved as an eps that'll be placeable with the selection transparent.
  18. Roland PNC-1000

Sure Glen- done! (anyone else wanting a copy, email me, I might forget to look here...!)
  19. Roland PNC-1000

HI, email me if you'd like the manual- I have it as a pdf. However, I've run our camm-1 for years without the manual, and the answers to a lot of problems are not in it, nor are they at Roland, but you might likely find them here! If plotting from Win XP, use Free Y, if plotting from Win98se...
  20. Questions on Roland PC-60

I've never used one, but a friend had one- he said the PC-60 uses tape as it moves, regardless of whether or not it prints that colour- but the PC-600 has a tape-saver ability so it only uses up what it prints. hth PS he now uses a 6 colour pro2.
