  1. Signs 101 Membership Qualifications

:goodpost: I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said!
  2. saying goodbye

I am so sad to see a very helpful and true artist have to leave this way. As I said earlier this week, I sincerley hope that we are not going down the "Letterville" road where one has to state before posting that it will be OT (off topic) for those not in the know. I must admit that I also have...
  3. SignLab 9

I'm still running SignLab5 on XP, and I need to upgrade the computer soon and I am worried if it will work on Windows 7 or whatever I have to get.
  4. 14ft circular sign

That is what I would consider.....Option #1 & 2...BUT your quality will put you out of their price range, so you would lose the job because your quality is too good.
  5. Old sign I found in my new house

Was it a baked enamel sign?
  6. Harvest full On

    :thumb: Stick at it mate!
  7. First Post

I just read this post Dan and I quoted your article in the other post about lowballers. I will say it again here I think everyone should grab the 2010 Signcraft mag and go straight to page 44 and read your full article.:thumb:
  8. What to do with low ball competitors

Grab your 2010 January/February signcraft Mag and turn to page 44 and read Dan Antonelli's article. I will retype the last paragraph. The detriments of having "bad work" out there. It's important to remember that the more "bad work" that leaves your shop, the more likely your shop will be...
  9. What to do with low ball competitors

I think it is irrelevant what the competition is charging. One should know what the running costs of their own business is and should charge accordingly. If you start competing then you are going down the same old road to bankruptcy.
  10. What to do with low ball competitors

One problem I find is that the "customer" does not know poop from clay. If they can't see a comparison then they don't know. I am hesitant to describe how I will be doing the job, because if you explain it to them, they know exactly what to say to the next guy. I will not do artwork hoping to...
  11. Turning big ball finials on my wood lathe.

I also am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Very nice indeed.
  12. Need some critique

    Or.....
  13. Need some critique

    Another thought
  14. I would really love YOUR help!

Done!! Good luck, and yes you are a bit behind!:thumb:
  15. Helllpp

    Another quickie..
  16. vinyl master pro....

I also have been using it from the start and I am extremely happy with it as a second program. It is much better for outling shading etc. compared to Signlab:thumb:
  17. Fired My First Customer Today

Potential customers who come in and ask for a price and artwork??? Can't have them both for free, and if you let them know then it soon sorts the sheep from the goats! If you have already done work for him under an agreement, then he owes you money that you should follow through with.
  18. Thank You

All the best for you both in the coming future. Keep your heads up!
  19. New Logo

The roller would have looked better turned vertical with the name broken into different typefaces. There is also one I did for a client a while back. You may get inspiration from it, but I hate copy wrapped in a circle which he requested.
