  1. Dream Shop

It would be a three-man shop tucked away in the hills of West Virginia with plenty of room (and work) for the grandchildren. It would have a big black telephone that hangs on the wall and a spindle on the desk for incoming orders. Oh yea...and a shop dog that never grows old. JB
  2. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

After a bit of research, what I've called a wobble board (shown above) is really called a balance board. Wobble boards have a spherical contact point with the floor for 360 degrees of motion. A balance board has cylindrical contact with the floor permitting only back and forth or side to side...
  3. Omega

You can get a copy of layout station (LS) for $195 if you upgrade an older version to Omega 5. Normally LS is $895.00. JB
  4. What would you do if you "accidentally" named your company?

Change your name and logo and put a positive spin on the transition. Many firms preface their explanation with statements such as "In order to meet the ever growing demand", or "In an effort to serve our customers better...the XYZ Company will now be known as (fill in the blank). Don't...
  5. Need adobe -- which one

If possible, try to find a copy of CS6, that way you'll have a little more latitude with opening the older files. I believe CS5 was the first 64 bit program. Speed is worth it...I wouldn't go back any further than that (CS5). When the Creative Cloud took over, there was a period of about 6...

Call Ross at Clean Cut Blade http://cleancutblade.com They're awesome. JB
  7. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

Gine...the blades are still working well, thanks again. And the "big savings" gets plowed back into the business for future growth, so I can't (won't) hire anybody. After some considerable thought, I've decided to try a different approach instead of sitting. For the lack of a better...
  8. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

Ha! That's too funny. I had considered one of those about two years ago, but I didn't follow through...thanks to this nifty review on youtube. Be forewarned, this guy is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38l84udBF4Y JB
  9. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

That's where I found the photo above, and I'm strongly considering that one. The next update will be in my office with a sit/stand (adjustable height) desktop like this one http://www.varidesk.com/ or this one http://www.ergodesktop.com/content/kangaroo-0 JB
  10. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

I already have one of those. I was looking for something that would keep me in a semi-standing position, yet allow me to flex my knees and sit. I've also seen those stools that look like they have a wide bicycle seat. Those look like they'd also work. JB
  11. Sit/stand stool...who uses one?

I'll be glued to the front of a sandblast cabinet for the next month or so, and even though I have a generously cushioned ergonomic floor mat, it's not going to cut it for the long hours of standing. I'll be sitting for 10-15 minute intervals with approximately three minutes standing time to...
  12. Landscape design

Instead of a gradient, how about a bit of prism on the name? JB
  13. Gerber Edge software

:goodpost: Remind your Gerber vendor that the special offer is for Omega 5 CP (print/cut)...regardless of whether or not your old copy of GA was print/cut. This is a limited time offer, however, Gerber does not say how long. Obviously, layout station (if it was even available in GA) would...
  14. Gerber Edge software

We have an old GA dongle that we have been allowed to turn in to get the special pricing on Omega 5 CP. The dongle came in a box of things we purchased from a sign company and we didn't have to go through a transfer of ownership (re-registration) to validate it. I gave them (Advantage Sign...
  15. Graphix advantage 6.0 cd software

I'm not sure if you caught my reply to your thread on a previous post, but there's presently a copy of Graphix Advantage on eBay. I had also mentioned that Gerber is offering a special deal for Omega 5 CP for only $1145 if you have a GA dongle. That's about 1/3 the regular price. At that...
  16. Gerber Edge software

There's currently an old copy of GA with dongles on eBay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261626820700?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Gerber is offering some tremendous deals with Omega 5 CP (print & cut) if you have an old Graphix Advantage dongle. If...
  17. old plotter problem

I'm not 100% sure, but anything that outputs HPGL (Hewlett Packard Graphic Language) should work. SignLab has a free 10 day trial for SignLab 9, you could give that a try for starters. There is currently a copy of Graphix Advantage 6.2 with dongle on Ebay that might go cheap. JB
  18. Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

If elbow grease won't cut it, then I would opt for a straight line sander. You'll have better control of the grain direction, and it won't hop around like a belt or drum sander. They're air hogs, so you'll need a good sized portable air compressor. JB
