I was 29 and restoring [mostly] 63-67 Corvettes. I had been out of 'Tech' school 9 years and had calibrated the hand controls [all analog] for the Lunar Expeditionary Module that landed on the moon 50 years ago. Signs had never passed thru my mind.

  7. Weekends

It's been my observation that many "sign business" owners haven't been very adept at the "business" end of their endeavors. It is not just the sign industry, I restored Corvettes for 20+ years and the bodyshop industry is similar, someone who is a good technician decides he would look good as...

  11. How stressed are you?

I hired a millennial and he is a quality human being and talented, and ambitious. After working here for 5 years I sold the business to him and he is killing it. He and a motivated 20yo girl put out more work than my daughter and I [ we are 50 and 73] and I am as proud of him as I would be if he...
  12. 3 d printing is anybody doing it and how are u making money

I started with a Creality CR10 and now have a Prusa MK3- I have built two Creality Ender3s for presents for young people. I think highly of the Creality's for the price and the Prusa is as good as you get for $1k. They are slow but useful. I knew Aspire and learned Fusion 360 to be able to...

  17. How stressed are you?

I am stressed because my Sweetie is in Ireland for another week. I think for many people the stress surfaces as anger. I have never had any luck with anger personally but I think we all suffer from other's anger.

    Enjoy it while it lasts.
  19. Professional Development: Who's doing it, and how?

BTW...is the dust collector your own concept and design? It is- I bought a like new Shopbot Buddy48 Alpha and didn't like how the dust collection came and researched everything available and then designed this and printed it on my Prusa MK3 with some acrylic parts cut on my laser. And... best...
  20. Professional Development: Who's doing it, and how?

Probably not what you are looking for... but I learned Fusion 360 over the last year and find it very satisfying. I design for the CNC, laser and 3D printer, stuff that works the way I want it to.
