after you do a head soak, you have to do a cleaning cycle and let the machine power down normally. the head soak is creating the unusual pressure situation.
so you don't lose the entire cart of ink, pull them out 1 inch until you use the printer again. this way, if you do get a freak gremlin...
I once had a client email me at the end of the day telling me i needed to take down some signage TOMORROW in a town that was about hour and 1/2 away. This is for an event that we do signage for every year (roughly $30K), I was very busy and was pissed that I wasn't given the normal 2 day notice...

i don't see the quantity or for that matter the low cost in this service.
i have pushed as hard as can and havnt damaged a head.
i have been doing this type of head recovery for at least 6 years, you have no worries.
matter of fact, you'll be impressed at how long you can keep a head running.....
hook a 6-9" tube to syringe, pull cleaning solution into syringe, connect to head nozzle, place paper towel under head with enought room to observe with a flash light, push solution throught untill you see all the heads open up.
i do this all the time.
