If that was the case, then it is what it is...don't let that continue to hold you back, there are still ways you can catch up on what you missed. I was practically two steps away from special ed. courses when I was in school. I went on to finish college and have turned the "chore" of learning...

There's such strong animosity here toward "bad design", so I don't see why it shouldn't carry over to the language that supports (and helps communicate) that design.
At the very minimum should be the ability to write a complete sentence.

What am I missing here? TT fonts naturally appear along with open type and .vef (naitive SignLab) fonts in SignLab...there's nothing special to do in order to use them.

You gotta be careful, but there are some good deals on Ebay once in a while. A friend of mine found a package of SignLab 7.0 this past spring for $300...complete with the extra artwork / fonts CD and USB dongle. It loaded and works flawlessly.

SignLab has a starter product for around $500, but I think the catch is that it only comes with one driver.
I think they're betting on beginners starting out with an inexpensive cutter and then upgrading to a full SL blown version when they get better equipment.
