  1. Almost makes me ill

I just heard about this show today...I don't have TV, so I'm probably sheltered from a lot of the so called "reality" that goes on. This borders on sanctioned child abuse...theyr'e screwin' up their kids mentally...who knows what they'll be like as parents. God save us all...
  2. Sandblasting?

My dream "toy"...we do monuments, and this what I'd like next: http://www.hironsmemorials.com/prod01.htm Scroll down and watch the video. JB
  3. Stolen Bike Registry?

My new neighbor of six months recently acquired a Harley with Kansas plates (we're in Michigan)...and says it's his sister's ride (she's an OTR truck driver)... His story seems legit, but I really wonder sometimes. Is there some sort of national Harley registry that lists stolen bikes...
  4. Hahahahahahahahahaha....................

Tell her the extra cost is due to the printing on the other side: "Going out of Business Clearance Sale". JB
  5. I really don't know what to think about this.

Sounds like a good plan to help clear your mind some afternoon... In all honesty, tell him the truth why you're reluctant to jump at the purchase. Done with the right attitude, I think he'll be respectful of that. If you're honesty is not well received, then it's time to move on. JB
  6. I really don't know what to think about this.

I think you already know the answer, but with that said, now's the time to begin planning your next step for both outcomes (staying on with a possible new owner, or moving on should the business happen to close). He was generous in letting you know that the business was for sale, but now...
  7. What accounting Software do you use?

I am in the process of getting my Quickbooks (purchased a year ago) up and running. I notice it has been "bloated" considerably over the trial versions I've tried in years past. I don't like the fact that the Pro version constantly pesters me to upgrade for more features...some of which should...
  8. Back to School: Required Reading

I can't take any credit here...just passing along what I found. I wish all business books could be "distilled down" to just the facts.
  9. Back to School: Required Reading

Here's the main directory for all of the downloadable files. I printed this page and checked them off as I downloaded them (from this link). There's a bunch of good stuff here, for sure. http://www.gary-tomlinson.com/media/ JB
  10. Back to School: Required Reading

Just in case you're looking for some extra knowledge this fall, but may be pressed for time, here's a link to great website that features in-depth business book reviews in .pdf form....all free. So, instead of having to invest a lot of time in a book that perhaps you may not like, this is a...
  11. What are people thinking…………. ??

    Yep....it ain't my job.
  12. Shooting in NYC near Empire State Building

I've often wondered what would happen if the cops show up just in time to see the "good guys" shootin' at the "bad guys". More than likely the "good guys" would get blown away. JB
  13. Shooting in NYC near Empire State Building

Looks like smart phones (photos and videos) will prove to be valuble in these situations. "Armed and dangerous" has now been replaced by "Armed, Wired and dangerous". JB
  14. Whats wrong? I have a gerber 4b miscutting jobs sent to plotter

You mentioned you slowed it down....what exactly did you slow down, the plot speed or the baud rate? We had similar issues with a 4B, and it all boiled down to the baud rate over-running the cutter. It also helps to use a plot spooler. "And don't nobody be dissin' this old workhorse"...
  15. Does Business Slowing Down?

So far, so good. We usually slow down in late October. JB
  16. Remembering past days fondly.

Had that happen once...I always do a test cut and weed whenever I change materials or blades. Well worth the extra time and effort compared to the alternative. Glad to hear your experience turned out rather differently. JB
  17. A rat in my own maze?

Ok...I think I'd better be a bit more rational....I think I'll only cut out the Pepsi for this week and lean pretty hard on the coffee due to the heavy work load. McDonald's makes a pretty mean mocha, and I absolutely love 'em...plus those nifty little stickers on the medium and large sizes...
  18. A rat in my own maze?

I was doing well with 100% no caffeine for a long time, but somehow got the urge for a sip of pop...then coffee...then I fell off the wagon. It really is amazing how much better you feel without it. JB
