  2. Gerber Omega LS 4.0

Does anybody know what file formats Omega LS 4.0 is capable of exporting? I primarily use SignLab 8 for cutting, but I also use Illustrator (.ai, .eps) and AutoCad (.dwg, .dxf) for designing. We do monuments and since Gerber has a few more options that I could use, I was wondering if it...
  3. No Jerks on the Job

I somewhat stunned. I just received an email this morning from "No Jerks on the Job" author Ron Newton. The link I included in the first post has generated quite a buzz from fellow Signs101ers, and like any good follower of web analytics, he became curious as to why. He was able to...
  4. No Jerks on the Job

I'm not looking to start an argument, but as one who came up through the ranks of industry, I've only been a newbie to the world of busienss for the past seven years. I'll be the first to admit that while some books aren't worth the ink they're smeared with, there are some excellent books...
  5. Equipment Question

Just make sure it's all held together with a solid business plan. It doesn't cost anything but a little time and hard work. It will be the most important part of your operation. JB
  6. Blue Moon

Awesome halo around our (midwestern) blue moon tonight...a most beautiful balmy summer's evening. JB
  7. No Jerks on the Job

One more characteristic I appreciate about the authors I follow is the how realistic they are. They often tell of the good, the bad, and the ugly...their mistakes and their failures and how they overcame. The main questions I ask myself when reading any book are: "Can this information...
  8. No Jerks on the Job

You're welcome. In case you haven't guessed, the above list contains titles that pertain to personal and professional development as well as overall business savvy. Books I keep are written by authors who have a sense of humility and possess true leadership qualities. They reference...
  9. No Jerks on the Job

If the office caught on fire, here's what I'd grab first: 1) Secrets of Effective Leadership - by F.A. Manske, Jr. 2) The Lord is My Counsel - by Marion Wade (Founder of ServiceMaster) 3) Pour Your Heart Into It - by Howard Schultz (CEO of Starbucks) 4) The Servant as Leader (adapted from...
  10. omega 5. copy and paste to corel

Convert the text to outlines/curves and do another "group" before copying. Always keep a backup copy of the original text in case you need to go back in and edit. JB
  11. No Jerks on the Job

I'm a book magnet. I like books about business, but I'm also very selective about what takes up room on my shelf. I've thrown away just about as many books as I've kept, and this book "No Jerks on the Job" is a keeper http://www.nojerksonthejob.com/ I just picked it up this afternoon and am...

  15. Appeal for us "Leftys"

Being left handed I often times find myself with one hand on the keyboard and the other on the mouse. I propose that future computer keyboards contain an "enter" key on the left side of the keyboard. Can anybody else relate? JB
  16. Any hazards???

Use paint respirator or work outdoors. I'm surprised that isopropyl alcolhol is that strong...or perhaps the ink hasn't been totally cured. JB
  17. flexi key

Big bummer...I trust you'll get the problem solved soon. JB
  18. Stolen Bike Registry?

Thanks for the info guys, but without going into a lot of details, this guy seems to have nothing to do all day but run up and down the road on this bike...when he's not tearing up the yard with his monster truck...or playing with horses. I'm not saying that's wrong, but typically, the...
