Good luck. Always follow your heart and you will always be happy. Cheers - G
  2. Do it today !!!!

Such sadness recently with the news of OP. We are all either praying for you, or in the very least hoping for you OP. There have been times in our lives that we have not necessarily done "the right thing" by others - either close to us or those around us. So today, before your time is up...
  3. Best way to remove vinyl from a banner...

Two things: 1) Usually it is the cheaper vinyls that releases the glue from the vinyl, so if heating does this, try removing cold. You may find the glue and vinyl will stay in tact. 2) If this doesn't work, remove lettering with heat, lay taut and soak lightly with mineral turpentine...
  4. can a landlord make you use their sign company even if you do signs?

"I smell kickbacks. " Yup.... have a bit of a sniff around and find out if there is any relationship between one and the other. The sign guy may be related or the landlord may have an interest in the sign company. Certain parameters - colour, size, style I can understand - but not...
  5. Howzit from downunder, Western Australia

    Welcome from Sunny Sydney
  6. can a landlord make you use their sign company even if you do signs?

Here in Australia it's called "Third Party Enforcement" whereby you can not avail of a service ( in your case rented premises ) unless you are forced to deal with a third party and (their) third party only. As an example - you are "forced" to insure a property with the lenders insurance...
  7. Sign for Signs

Interesting.... not one design included a lettering brush - which would have been the case not too many years ago (in the big scheme of things). Just sayin' Cheers - G

  11. Can we talk about my logos?

"I only wanted input on updating my logos, not my website, not the way I design business cards, nothing but the logos." They are all crap.... for the third time. Homesty is always the best policy I say.
  12. Can we talk about my logos?

With the repitition of repeating myself: "They are all crap." No cheers - G
  13. Can we talk about my logos?

Curious minds want to know: "The reason to critique them now is because they are all established businesses and I can improve on the logos when I decide to. " 1) Don't you think their logo can be improved when THEY want to? 2) What makes you so confident that when the time comes they...
  14. Can we talk about my logos?

They are all crap. If someone asked me to pay for any of those - I would just laugh at you. But then.... as you say they are 10-15 years old so I see no reason to judge or critique now, assuming you have improved over time, and your design skills are so much more improved these days. To...
  15. Problem - Vinyl Peeling

Lets see a photo. But off the top of my head I would say it is almost impossible for this to happen on all three sides. I would suggest that this is customer related - most likely high pressure washer - hand or mechanical. Cheers - G
  16. The best 100 ways to tell a customer you're not interested

One thing I've learnt is when to say "no" to unprofitable business in both time and $$$. This is one of those occasions I would have to say "no". But thanks for the opportunity. Keep me in mind for next time. Cheers - G
  17. Completely New and I just bought a vinyl plotter!

Forget about many of the BS postings so far. There is a difference in approach and "newbies" should use their brains and approach with the right approach from the start. Original post: Hi, I just bought this, http://cgi.ebay.com/New-44-SignMaker...t_10787wt_1139 Is it any good? I own...
