  2. Not sure where to post this, hope this is ok - Need some ideas on storage

Ours are all stored pretty similar to that (48" & + rolls) lining every available wall... Can't really think of an economical way to do it otherwise with material that large. Just have everyone be careful and they won't get knocked over, lol. I have seen some large "gun rack" style mounts for...
  3. Looking for a source. 3D chrome decal bases

The only supplier that I use that has pieces remotely similar is Restylers Choice, maybe they can point you in the right direction? How many are you needing? Possibly someone could print these out on a 3D printer if they are a short run.
  4. 3D Printers, General

Are any on here members of any 3D printing based forums yet? Is there one on this site that I don't know about yet? Have any of you considered adding a 3D printer to your business for producing sign industry products? Any reasons why or why not that you would like to share?
  5. 3D Printing Legality Questions?

I have a question that maybe one of the experts here can enlighten me on: Legal implications of 3D models and what statutes are out there currently. My question is particularly for the USA but may apply elsewhere: Collegiate Logos / Sports Team Logos While you can legally "possess" digital...

  7. Compatible metals question.

On ambulances and such where stainless and aluminum would otherwise come in contact most manufacturers use isolaters in-between/around the fasteners. (like nylon sleeves)
  8. short tshirt run

I have had great success in the past with the Siser Colorprint materials and the Edge. There are a few different materials depending on what the shirts are made from, and I always gave it a few extra seconds on the heat press just to be sure.
  9. Laminate Edge Print Life

Maybe Indoors they would last that long, not out in the sun. I don't like to take chances; we laminate everything that is printed.
  10. Mimaki JV3-130spII - Media sensor not working properly

Are you using Onyx? If so, I think you can just lie in the rip and tell it that the media is 54" and left-justify it? Also, it might not hurt to try putting on some other roll of a different width and checking the results. And lastly, turn the machine all the way off and unplug it and plug it...

  12. Laminate Edge Print Life

Grimco sells a lot of blanks, many other suppliers sell blanks also.
  13. Express Font Help?

Looking for something close to "EXPRESS" in the attached image for a Fire Dept close to the stadium.
  14. Printed chalkboard??

There is a chalkboard vinyl material, but I don't think you can print on it unless you have a flatbed and/or can print white. There are a lot of "whiteboard" (dry erase) laminates that you can apply over prints though if that is what she means.
  15. What is this Vinyl?

Have them send a close-up shot of one of the letters and we can identify the material better or tell you what would be a close match. Most likely though, it is NOT reflective.
  16. Laminate Edge Print Life

The Edge machine here has been printing daily since it was new (20 years ago), and we have long life on all of our prints. Almost all were for municipal jobs until recently when more are for commercial. We use 3M 8519 (and 8520/8518 some) and the prints last 7+ years. Many are 10-15 years old...

  18. Solara UV2 Inks?

We recently came across a Solara UV2 printer in good condition, for an absolute steal of a price (shop went out of business) on craigslist. It also came with an entire extra printer for parts. I have to assume that some people are still running these, as Gerber equipment never seems to die. (we...
  19. Cutting to D140 from Composer?

We just installed a new Summa D140 yesterday in our office. We have the machine itself cutting pretty well with us going to it and adjusting the pressure manually and then sending the job from Gerber Composer using the machine's settings. However, we would like to be able to choose the...
  20. Cutting 680CR issues

Never ever ever seen anything like that... Get out a loupe (sp?) and check your blade tip. Also possibly there is gunk in the blade holder not allowing the blade to pivot/spin correctly?
