  1. Chrome wrapped Porsche 911 - Iron Man theme

    Plasti-dip the wheels. Looks AWESOME!
  2. What would YOU do with the money?

So how much is the monthly subscription plan on the tv? Did he go to the "rent to own" place for it also? I, also, always prefer to buy the software once and own it for as long as I will need it.
  3. Ever Put two Banners together?

I have had them sewn together a long time ago for outdoor banners. For indoor banners I would think hem tape might work, but not outdoor.
  4. Weird issues when printing fades and gradients

I JUST had this happen for the first time EVER about two weeks ago. (Exact same circles in the radial gradients from Illustrator) I have even printed from the same artwork in the past w/o issues. I rasterized the artwork and overlaid the cut paths and everything was fine. *this was also on...
  5. short tshirt run

It's been a few years, an dit wasn't samples I could "try out", it was more samples of the stuff already cut. I may have seen them at an Advantage Sign Supply Open House and got it from there??? Can't recall anymore...
  6. Is it time to upgade to FX

I know I've been weighing in a lot, but also: You can buy crossover cables to convert that parallel cable to USB. That is what we run here w/o problems. We run brand new PCs on Windows 7 and Composer 4.0.X here and run an Edge 1 & 2.
  7. short tshirt run

I have seen it, I think they will send you out a sample pack... it's been a couple years but they sent me one on request. They actually have a LOT of different cool heat press materials that are plot-able.
  8. Mimaki clogged nozzle: good cleaning trick or stupid idea?

A brake line bleeder works VERY well if used to pull ink through the heads while they are resting on the capping station. ;) Use light pressure. It looks like your magenta was already damaged by the capping station screws, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say the black is too and now it...
  9. Edge 2-- Vinyl slipping off sprockets

I have received a LOT of incorrectly punched rolls over the years. (the dealer will take them back) I have also had this happen with using settings like reflective vinyl when it is regular vinyl, and the machine applying too much pressure. Change the vinyl type and foil spec'd in the file and...
  10. JV33 still stopping mid print

I only have JV3's, not 33s, but we had a similar problem where randomly the head would park and printing would stop and the printer would be sitting on local mode instead of remote. Hitting remote resumed the printing, but it'd stop after an hour or so and you'd have to do it again. It ended up...
  11. Is it time to upgade to FX

If you have the HS15+ The Plotter Doctor can send you the replacement parts to bring it back as good as new.
  12. Looking to buy a new Graphtec. Anything coming out new?

Just got a new Summa here, wouldn't ever think of buying a Graphtec again after using one of these. It can track a WHOLE 50YD roll for plotting!
  13. Perferated reversve print and stick is it possible?

Fellers sells it, I have had issues with Mimaki solvent ink not drying on it and transferring to the window. I have printed on it with an Epson GS6000 without ink transfer/drying issues. It could just be a profile issue, but wanted to throw it out there.
  14. Is it time to upgade to FX

I'd like to weigh in on this as I think I've had a lot of experience w/ each model. At my last position we had an Edge FX and it printed good and fast, but it DID consistently have more errors and waste more material then the Edge 1 & 2 that we have here. Ours here (both the Edge 1 & 2)...
  15. Stripe Kits

Restylers Choice should sell you the decal kit for that vehicle. Nobody is going to supply the files to you though.
  16. Phototex for Templates

I taped them up on the wall so they were flat, then shot them from a distance with the camera. then traced in Illustrator and scaled correctly once traced using a tape measure.
  17. Phototex for Templates

We used 3m 180c for this wrap. (and a lot of primer94, lol)
  18. Solara UV2 Inks?

Another employee here is working on finding a 3rd party ink supplier to make some ink for it, apparently there are a lot of companies that will do that for a reasonable rate. I will reply here when we get the deal finalized, but it is not on our top priorities list at the moment so it'll be a...
  19. 3D Printing Legality Questions?

I am not talking about producing actual physical pieces, I am talking about the 3D model files their selves. (from which one could theoretically print a physical piece)
  20. Phototex for Templates

    (some pics of the process)
