  1. Software to Convert a 2D image to 3D file (DFX)

This is one of the programs I run - Rhino - works on Mesh Heightfield. Here are two quick renditions I have done without any curving to a surface, pulling etc. Might be worthwhile looking into. Cheers - G
  2. Software to Convert a 2D image to 3D file (DFX)

I think you need to post a 2D and 3D sample (obviously / most likely not the same image) you might get a more accurate response. Cheers - G
  3. This month's business card

Perfect. If anything Pat, I would introduce either black or bark brown for the lower text block. Cheers - G
  4. Greek

I think your first try is a little complicated. Try simplifying it. I also tthink that as a designer / signmaker it is also your job to best advise the client - not the other way around. If I listened to all my clients and their workers, wives, neighbours etc, I would never get a job...
  5. Over designing signs

Do what the client will love and pay for. EVERYTHING over that is your choice to do it for free - that is artistic license to do "over and above". That is your play time. NEVER expect to get paid for it because that is what makes the job fun.
  6. What you think PROS?

Fred is more generous with his time than I would be. Mosh is spot on. Your friend ... and this is my opinion... has no eye ... nor artistic talent- that's why he loved it... or is being "kind" to you. Start again. Think about what he does. Very quickly place a leaf inside a tree with...
  7. PhatWall's final logo

Right in your eyes... but what does it mean? Have a look at Mc Donalds, Walmart, Costco, Nike, Dunlop, XBox. Not saying "Phat Wall" is going to be up with them... but there is a reason they are simple. Yours is complicated which rings bells immediately. Re think. Less is more.... ever...
  8. 50% or 1/2 off?

It's FRIED RICE !!!!!!!!!!! You Gleek plicks.

Hi Carneage, so sorry to take so long replying, I only just noticed the message. If you could be a little more specific about what supplies you might be after, I could probably point you in the right direction. Where abouts are you and what sort of signs do you wish to do? Cheers
  10. Graduation banner wording?

"Across the line Joze"....Next stop "Pitt Stop"... with the usual chequered flag and stuff. Cheers G
  11. Another Hi from Oz

If you are into airbrushing, you might want to check out Wayne Harrison from Advanced Airbrushing... here in Sydney but does do courses up your way. Check out the website for course options. Cheers - G
  12. Changing logo/company name - need your opinion

Google "Dave Butler" Dave is probably one of the best - up there with Mike Jackson and Dave Smith. Cheers - G
  13. Another Hi from Oz

Rod is a master of the airbrush and over decades has taken in many states of Australia, many visits overseas and a keen "Letterheads" supporter. He would agree that he is still perfecting his art today. Also ultra nice guy to boot. I can only "just" airbrush. But better than 75%. Self...
  14. Another Hi from Oz

Aus don't take any offence between the "old timers" that can paint and those that wield a tablet. Both have plusses and both have their place. When you can blend the two - it just makes you a more accomplished and more flexible participant. The only way to back up your attitude to...
  15. Starting out

"Small? Doubtful, merely corollary to the inarguable proposition that quiet competence trumps motivational bullshit. Every time. That being the case it follows as the night unto the day that time is better spent developing actual competence rather than sharpening abstract rhetorical tools."...
  16. Roof Wrap, Vinyl Scuffing

Place a ladder next to the drivers side door. Climb it. Chances are you may not be able to see the scratches. Light reflection will always emphasise when viewed side on which is basically what you are doing from ground level viewing roof level. I doubt you will ever fix this "problem"...
  17. crazy client aren't they all

Ok... I am with ddlark.... take his money.... but the guy is still a goose.
  18. Another Hi from Oz

LOL..."Wow, so many negative responses". Actually there were only two "negative" responses. Dave and myself. Dave was a little harsher but that's between him and you. But I do agree with him. Once again, it is not personal, and I do respect the fact that you might "rethink" your approach...
  19. Hi from Oz
