  1. For our Drummers

I'm not a drummer, but I find the manufacturing processes of most things absolutely facinating. Check this one out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79PVQixZjak How would like the job of the quality control guy? He was probably the kid who took out all the pots and pans and went at them...
  2. Weigh-Ins for the signs101 Losers (the good kind!)

+1 I was able to do it for about two months and then fell off the wagon. I was even off coffee also...talk about a major energy boost without having to be crippled by caffeine. The first three or four days are absolutely the worst (major headache), but once past that, it becomes more of a...
  3. Weigh-Ins for the signs101 Losers (the good kind!)

I'm Jim, and I'm fat. I've come to this group in hopes of gaining control in my life again. Oh, wait...wrong group...sorry. Anyway, I confess...I've been trying to lose 35 pounds over the last six months. How am I doing? Well....I've lost six months. Count me in for some sort...
  4. QR Code in Granite

Yep...had a couple of others say that. It's amazing how those phones know what to do. JB
  5. QR Code in Granite

Out of curiosity, I took the granite tile to the local AT&T store this afternoon to see if it worked with a smart phone. Sure enough, the phone locked onto the code instantly and it went right to my link. I had concerns that possible reflection from the stone might impede the phone's...
  6. Can you here it?

YES, I can hear it! Dad always made sure we wore our hearing protection while working in the shop. Now, some thirty years later, I still hate loud noise and I always wear my shooter's earmufs when working with loud stuff. I love it...they said it's used to keep mall rats from loitering...
  7. How to explain this to a customer...

+1 for good PR. It might be a good idea to figure this into the initial cost of doing a project like this. Keep the money on ice to cover such expenses, and if they don't complain after it's been removed, put the money into your general operating fund. JB
  8. It's 11-11-11!

Not only that, but it's also a palendrome! JB
  9. QR Code in Granite

All depends on what you want. Check out this link. http://smartmemorials.com/ I have no association with this company, but it looks like they're using QR and Smart Tags on memorial porcelain photo plaques. Who knows if it will be just a fad, or a lasting thing. My only concern is...
  10. Planning for Emergencies

"LIKE" Not only the passing of a loved one, but for any extended absences that are beyond our control. In my former life, I was a high school teacher. We were required to have a minimum of three days worth of lesson plans on file, just in case we needed them in an emergency. JB
  11. QR Code in Granite

As stated on an earlier post, we're doing a business expo on Saturday and wanted something with a little pizazz to set our business cards on that would leave a leave a lasting impression with potential clients. Granite tile measures 12" x 12", and the image is sandblast etched into the...
  12. QR Code Test Help Needed

Sorry...I shoulda stated that from the outset....oh well... We're doing a small business expo on Saturday and I'm going to etch it in black granite for my business card display. I'll post pics when its done. JB
  13. QR Code Test Help Needed

It's my business facebook page. I had you PM me in accordance with the forum's "no advertising policy". I didn't want to make it look like I was advertising. Thank you, JB
  14. QR Code Test Help Needed

Please PM me with the link this QR code takes you to. I want to make sure it's working ok before I put it out for the general public. Many thanks, JB
  15. Technolgy

Man after my own heart. His "Handy Man Corner" is way ahead of its time. JB
  16. Why you should hire a professional for your designs

Obvious gaff, but it's a good cause so go carefully here, please. "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is an public awareness event whereby men secure pledges and then don high heel shoes and walk a mile (...literally, in her shoes) to raise money for domestic abuse shelters. I've been waiting for...
  17. Omega plot seems to be sending old files for cutting

Sounds to me like the old file was in the "cue" or "spooler" (used to buffer the jobs) within the program, or the printer itself. There should be an option to dump a file after it's been cut. JB
  18. Boxes...

I totally agree. For the upper class, nothing says "down home" like those boxes that come emblazoned with the logos (on all four sides) of unmentionable hygeine products. JB
