  2. How NOT to letter a boat

Looks like their drop shadow....dropped. BUT....on the other hand, it kinda has that lenticular effect...black from one angle...red from the other. I'll bet he got charged extra. JB
  3. FastTrac Growth Venture Training

Has anyone participated in the Kauffman Foundation FastTrac Growth Venture trainig? Essentially, it's for businesses that are looking toward moving to the next level of growth. I have an opportunity to attend. Typically it's an $850 course, but the Michigan Small Business & Technology...
  4. Squeegees - what kind do you use?

White nylon, or maybe it's teflon....very slippery and glides across transfer tape. JB
  5. something for thought...

Just how many gals out there carry a Sharpie marker with them at all times? The world is waiting to know... JB
  6. Please join us as we welcome our newest graphic designer!

You're a blessed man, my friend. JB
  7. Times are tough, or are they?

It's amazing how the most remote incidents can effect us now days. At the part time job, they just bought a $100K machine last month to do work for one of the main Japanese auto makers. Now it looks kind of sketchy since the earthquake....first tier suppliers are beginning to drop like flies...
  8. Any ideas on how to speed up.......

Since latex is essentially water, how about using a dehumidifier? Dry air is the best sponge. JB
  9. Times are tough, or are they?

That's the truth... I taught HS for six years and I think it should be mandatory that slackers quit school after tenth grade and go fling cow manure (by shovel) for two years...THEN come back to school with a new attitude toward learning. It sure would make the teacher's jobs a lot easier. JB
  10. Times are tough, or are they?

This may be after the fact, but try to run on your own cash as much as possible and avoid debt. I actually had an insurance agent tell me I was crazy for not "embracing" debt, and that my business could grow larger and faster with it. Yeah, that might be the case. But it's not a good...
  11. Times are tough, or are they?

Looks like NASA is coming to Hillsdale. The appear to be occupying quite a few retail stores downtown. Oh...the name of their franchise is....."Space Available". JB
  12. what do I do with this guy?

+1 Mainframe I would cut it and then bill him just as you would if you had used your own material, done the weeding, and applied application tape. Let him choose whether or not he wants to do it. What's next..."do-it-yourself" vasectomy kits? I'll check with my local urologist...perhaps...
  13. Font Management

I tried importing SignLab (.vef format) fonts into Suitcase and it seems to be balking at that. It appears that the proprietary font file formats are not supported (Gerber, Flexi, etc...) JB
  14. One money...give or take.

It never ceases to amaze me how rogue wannabe superstars can out do even the most savvy of marketing gurus. This pitch man for Skittles is a hoot...plus he has a bunch of other funny videos. I think You Tube has turned the entire media industry upside down...
  15. Font Management

+1 more for Suitcase Fusion. I really like the font vault that comes with it. It automatically stores the fonts in a special folder for disaster recovery...or switching over to a different computer. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can literally pack up all your fonts and load them...
  16. Just fun to watch :-)

    Kewl JB
  17. Golf school logo

Ditto. Have you ever really observed the commercials played during golf? There are none of those wild beer commercials typically shown on football games, or any of those "in your face" deodorant ads. They're all high-end investment firms and fine sports cars spots. They obviously know...
  18. lay it on me !!!!!!

Wow. I got a few things right this time. Whenever I see one of these design reviews, I make a few mental notes first, and then go on to see what other's say. I think Bob has some good suggestions. JB
  19. Always back up

Sounds like it would do a person good to make a few "dry runs" to test their recovery system. I like the idea of developing and maintaining a protocol to follow, such as a list of files, their locations and frequency of backups. Just for giggles, take some time and transfer all your stuff...
  20. How much to charge....

A wise man once told me: "Know your costs...and you'll make money by default." So...what are your costs? Lots of people ask this question ("How much should I charge?"). You'll get a better answer if you first show forth some effort. You should at least be giving us what you...
