  1. 2 Color Layering

I use registration marks on all four corners as well. Works great - if installing yourself do it layer by layer and not a finished 2 or however many layer vinyl all at once, I have found it almost impossible to get a good squeege on the vinyl without getting bubbles around the edges of the...
  2. wraps alone

I did a couple 52"x20' last week for a transit bus. Taped it up, marked it with my grease pencil, then rolled it and peel out about 2' at a time, tacket it along my grease marks, then went back and re-tacked pieces here and there, flattened it out with the torch, and voila. Would have been way...
  3. die cut press/ laminate machine

Yep..this is how I use to do it - I have since figured out a simpler, most time-effective manner to do this (same basic method really) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpFia1oUXHw
  4. Window Perf

I can show you what a picture of what a window perf. job looks like on a vehicle with no lam about 6 months after installation. Initially lost the job to a lowballer, now they are at my door for me to re-do it for them. Once it gets in my shop ill snap some photos.
  5. Window Perf

No problems here.. Only "comment" I have ever had is that sometimes when it is just installed you can see lines of pressure where I made passes with my squeege. Set it outside for 30 minutes in the sun and evens out beautifully.
  6. Mutoh VJ1604 PF Motor Replacement

If you find out it is indeed the motor, let me know - ive got an extra one. Got suckered into a $150.00 fix as opposed to just an encoder disc..
  7. 1604 Print Size off 1/4"

Well - measure some text that was centers. 8" from edge of text to edge of print, 8.25" from other edge of text to edge of print..so I'm guessing clipping?
  8. 1604 Print Size off 1/4"

Best I can tell it is clipping one side - the mags had some small lettering on them so I think that would have made it fairly noticeable if it were being skewed shorter or something - but I could be way wrong and that may be exactly what is happening.
  9. 1604 Print Size off 1/4"

Just ran a set of mags, 12"x24" designed in photoshop, exported to Signlab. When I go to print, everything still shows 12"x24", but get the print and after laminating and trimming, I measure and it is 12"x23.75" These were ran parallel with the a 24" print on top, then the two 12" mags...
  10. Digital Print Contour cut/die cut magnets

I've cut some on my graphtec. I only run like 24" at a time, but transfer tape the back up so it doesn't stick then set the pressure high enough to cut the top layer. It works for maybe 5 or 6 custom shaped magnets, but doing a lot..not worth the hassle on it.
  11. Mounting prints that are larger than substrate, Best method?

I print most of my stuff about 1/2" oversize, peel back first 3" or so of liner, flip over and line up the other end with equal over hang on sides and bottom, then stick the top and roll with it from then on. Works great..
  12. kraft paper

Did the GBC not come with a bar that sits over maybe a couple dowels at the front? My enduralam has that and keeps it flat and also make sure that the print hits the laminate/rollers nice and flat. The print slides up under it..
  13. kraft paper

I just insert my print into the laminator, feed forward about an inch (just enough to "grab" it) and at this point it is not printed vinyl it is laminating, just some excess white, then go to the back, step on the foot pedal while holding the print coming through and let it feed onto the floor.
  14. Die Cutting???

I die cut decals all the time, but I am doing it on a graphtec. I imaging the process should be pretty similar, if you're interested in how I do it shoot me a PM, pretty simple but I'll type it up for ya.

  16. Skewing problem

Make sure the media is square, check it with a T-Square. I know it sounds obvious, but..I overlook it all the time. Also, I know some media's just..skew..I can feed my 3M Stuff through it ALL DAY LONG with no skewing, however..throw a roll of Avery in there, and it's horrible..buckles, walks...
  17. Print and cut length ?

Yup. Whenever I do over 5', I check and double check to make sure media is as perfectly square as can be..and even then sometimes, it doesn't work out the way I envisioned.
  18. I am looking this sign stand?

I haven't browsed this website for that specific one, but maybe check this place out and see: www.displays2go.com
  19. Print and cut length ?

I usually stick to right around 5'.. I've had as much go right as wrong with things over 5', but if it goes wrong it's a lot of time and material cost to fix..
  20. Media "Jumping" Forward

Well, I ordered a motor from SW. Keith was a big help as always, so I will keep my fingers crossed that this fixes the problem. If not, back to the drawing board..but, it's Friday so I am not going to let it ruin my weekend - it's been a hectic week. I'll update everyone tomorrow, going to swap...
