After testing a few hours using different settings, doing actual size tile segments of around 1m x 1m, I am unable to get a print which has no colour shift between panels. Attempted fixes thus far; 1) turn on periodic clean (10min) 2) tile in the RIP (VW) 3) tile in Ai 4) print the file...

I think being a screen printer, it's a good move for you. Although digital, the gerber printing system is more closely related to what you already do as opposed to inkjet printing. If you ever get orders for screen printed whites/metallics on short run clears (or anything), then imagine...

I like Illy's live trace. The trick is in learning all the little settings that most overlook. Worth familiarising yourself with them all.

That's exactly the work around I was taught on this forum. There is a thread about it somewhere. Basically VW goes off the layer stack order. I am also baffled as to why there is no 'optimise sequence' button in VW. Needs it badly! It would also be incredibly useful if VW could give you...
