  1. How to explain outsourcing?

I agree. My cousin owns an apparel shop in town and when customers ask if they can get business cards, shirts or hats I say "no, we don't offer this but our sister company does, I'll let them know you're stopping by or calling and I'll send them your logo." For things we outsource, like...
  2. Stock vector

We use a lot of the ones already mentioned but we also use and have a subscription to http://www.freepik.com/
  3. Need Help EstiMate - won't renew

I've been building my own using SmartSuite and I'm happy so far. I've looked into FileMaker as well and it seems a little more complicated and pricey.
  4. Need Help EstiMate - won't renew

I guess it's just my assumption that they may be shutting down. Like you mentioned, they haven't updated anything in years and this manually loading the new license issue seems to me Estimate will not exist at some point in the near future. Or maybe they are just short staffed and what they are...
  5. Need Help EstiMate - won't renew

This has been a common question here. I would do a search for the other threads for some of the other responses but in short, it seems as though they are shutting things down. I get a license file sent to me each month which I have to manually download to my desktop and the software "picks it...
  6. Customer requesting relief cuts in vinyl

Is that red strip just a decal or is this a full wrap. If it's just a strip, why not "feed" it into the recessed areas and back out instead of heating and stretching/pushing/forming it into them? If you decide to form it in and make a relief cut, don't cut too hard. I've seen several wrapped...
  7. VA Commercial wrap pricing

Florence, WI. :) Bordering the U.P. of Michigan!
  8. VA Commercial wrap pricing

Charge by the hour not the square foot. You also have help, so you need to add in for them. Installing a full wrap only with 2 or 3 people, I'd be around $1500 depending on the vehicle. Full Coverage color changes, bumpers, door handles and mirrors would increase that price.
  9. 2023 wrapup

The Good: We purchased a new rollover table for transfer tape and sign application, well worth it. Also a new hire that has really rounded out our team. Our sales increased again for the 13th consecutive year and we've seen a lot more new customers in 2023, started jogging for 3 miles a day...
  10. The joys of customers...

I was pretty upset. Had to take a VERY deep breath. There were skunks in there and other critters. He's a trapper & mentor to teens. He tries to bring us sausage sticks all of the time. After this I usually decline. I'm a hunter and I love my venison jerky but I just don't trust what he'd give...
  11. The joys of customers...

Yeah, I unusually try to do septic trucks outside unless they are new. :)
  12. The joys of customers...

Speaking of clean vehicles, this one came in with a full load of dead animal carcasses. In my defense, they were fully covered over with snow and we didn't know they were there until we brought the truck in and the snow melted. At that point the smell became unbearable but my dog was loving it...
  13. Estimate Sign Pricing Software

Over the last few months I've been building a workflow and estimation platform on SmartSuite. It's working well so far but quite a lot to learn. There's a lot of flexibility so I'm hoping to have a working template for the estimation side soon. I'll send updates soon I hope.
  14. Estimate Sign Pricing Software

They were sending the updated license file monthly for at least the last year. I'm going to imagine that this will cease all together. I did have an issue a while back and did get an email response back which fixed the problem. I've been using EstiMate for at least 15 years now so the transition...
  15. How long have you been on here?

    2007 for me.
  16. 3 Sign Shops Closed

I've raised my prices as an inconvenience fee for the customers that I don't like. I have a few that do a lot of business with us, but every time I see their name on the caller ID, my blood boils.
  17. Okay, I think I have a winner here..................................................................................

We have only a few printing companies in our area and we're all extremely busy. Over the past couple of years, I've watched a lot of ASAP/arrogant customer types quickly turn into humble clients. If I can't make you deadline or your artwork needs adjusting and that pi$$es you off but the last...
  18. How long to you warranty wraps?

You can bet your a** Avery, 3M, Oracal, Arlon and others have covered their warrantee butts. It's up to you at that point to choose the correct material and make sure your installers and their work is up to par before it leaves the shop. I'm sure you could probably tell what issues are installer...
  19. How long to you warranty wraps?

    Agree with this statement....
  20. Suggestions Flat Exterior Material Recommendation
