We use Signs365 mostly for banners and high quantity yard signs. We don't really have the banner finishing capabilities so it's not worth it to do them in house. 365 is amazing on their turn around and most past mistakes were kind of our fault (forgot to check the vertical flutes box) and even...
Doesn't have to be pretty. We have 2 roland 60" printers and we don't use 60 inch rolls because my production manager is a young woman and she's on her own most of the time. I've been dreaming about building or buying a system that can mount extra rolls behind the printer so we don't have to...
I think it also depends on the material you are using. Some of the lower quality media should dry for as long as possible. Overnight or longer. Ink saturation with darker inks should sit longer, use the proper print profile and if you can incorporate a white outline around your print, that will...
I would but their workers do the installs. For the 970 RA wrap material I'm thinking of laminating it.
A 3M rep recommended IJ180MC with 8518 for Lamination for the printed stuff.
Yes everything has to be printed. Even the cut vinyl graphics haven't held up long. In 2016 we used oracal 970 RA wrap vinyl and it has faded and looks terrible today.
I see the company that was providing the Citgo canopy graphics is now screen printing directly on the canopy metal now so finding out what they were using 10-20 years ago is impossible at this point. Money is no object to them, if I can't get my material to last at least 10 years in direct...
My production manager printed on Avery 1106 instead of 1005 for a vehicle wrap. Was wondering why it was so aggressive with it's initial tack. Hope the customer never asks me to remove it.
Customer used to be a Citgo brand and is now independent. The company that provided the citgo graphics for the canopies, several years ago were providing a 3M product that was extremely thick and I cannot find out what it's made up of. I asked the company directly and they are being extremely...
2 questions...
1. Is double laminating a thing and will it give extra UV protection from the sun?
2. Which one will protect the print from the sun's rays better, matte or gloss?
I just ordered a bunch of tools from JDS Industries. We order most of our changeable copy letters from them as well. Decent selection, fair prices and shipping was fast.
Just wondering...For the companies out there with your install garage bay open to the rest of your shop, besides the obvious constant dusting and cleaning the tables and floors. Is there a recommended filtration unit anyone can recommend for keeping dust down to a minimum? My shop is clean but...
In winter months, anything smaller that we can apply a consistent amount of heat over so the adhesive can bond better, we'll send out same day. Wraps are overnight for sure but I usually try to do wraps late in the week so there is a possibility the vehicle can be left in our shop through the...
If they ask me for artwork to take to another shop there's usually a good reason and I want to find out why. If they are unhappy, I want to fix it. If a customer is upset about something, 99% of the time I can see their point.
If they want the artwork to take to another business because it's...
For us, most design time gets hidden in with the overall work like some have said. Logos and obvious hourly design time involved with a job will be a line item. If a customer comes in almost blatantly making the design process difficult, providing non-vector artwork, wanting their order right...
Thanks everyone! I quoted it Pan Formed so we'll see what becomes of it. Cabinet is 12" deep so the additional space the faces give will help. I plan to replace the fluorescents with Generation 2 LED bulbs from sign lights LED. I've used these on numerous occasions and absolutely love them but...
