Hello, can anyone tell me the list price of the Mimaki JV3-130SP SS2? I'm trying to find it online and I'm having a difficult time finding a ballpark figure. Thanks very much.

  6. Summa or Graphtec for my money

The more I play with the Summa, the more I like them! They are a little more expensive, but I think you get quite a big bang for the money you spend on them. I've also been very satisfied with the FC-7000 from Graphtec, more economical on the price, and I've been able to cut a variety of...

  9. Versacamm Poster Paper

Ivivid semi-matte paper or gloss paper works awesome on a versacamm. I believe it's only about $0.19 per sq/ft. www.ivivid.net.

None of the programs you use are print/cut rips. You need to use a full rip like Flexi, Sign Lab 7, Wasatch, or Onyx.

  13. hp designjet 5500 good/bad?

Thermal printheads are only rated for about 2400ml of ink before they dry out and stop working. Even when you use 3rd party ink, they still need to be replaced. But don't fret, unless you're printing 8-10 hours a day, a full set of ink can last 6-12 months meaning that you won't need to replace...

  15. hp designjet 5500 good/bad?

Dakota, Great printer, true workhorse. There are 3rd party inks available that are truly compatible with HP OEM ink that are about 1/3 less the price than HP OEM ink. Great starting point for digital printing, durability will be an issue if you're looking long-term. FYI, we have a 5500ps 42"...
  16. Which cutters are more reliable? Robust?

If you've got the $$$, definitely recommend the Summa, but a more between the Roland & Graphtec, I'd recommend the FC7000 cutter. Just make sure you have a good tech relationship with your dealer because Graphtec's tech support can be rough sometimes...
  17. Encad Novajet 850

Our company had a 850 when I first started here about 4 years ago and I never saw it print once. Printheads were constantly failing, tech support was awful, and reliability was an oxymoron. I've heard that parts are now extremely hard to find, the ink durability is non-existence, and a whole...
