  1. Need Help How to use 2 Mimaki CG-160FXII Plus on 1 PC Desktop?

As long as they show up as 2 different devices - just see which one comes in when you plug it in and assign a name to it - either way - just plot to the one that comes up
  2. 'Regular Shop Vac' on HP FB550

Even easier.. Just install a relay and use anything you'd like.. Even a system vac using remote blast gates...
  3. Can PDF's Carry a Virus?

Basically.. Any file that you "execute" instead of read can have a virus. So Txt files are fine, but pdfs, spreadsheets, word docs, etc can all have various types of virus. Most will ask you to enable macros or download something to read it/convert it - but don't be fooled.. You rarely need a...
  4. Help with Gerber GS-15 Plus

Lol.. As the blade dies you replace the blade.. Increasing pressure will just make it more lightly to cut into the drum covering. Clean the sprockets to stop the jumping and probably get the drum recovered.. Of course.. Its an OLD machine that's not had much love over its life - might be worth...
  5. CJV30 Washing Station Valve not Automatically Opening

Might be just a fuse or transistor. Just check against the other cartridges.
  6. Anyone in the UK who uses ink from Digital Ink GB Ref Drying Issues?

Hmm.. Print profiles are bad.. Each ink is different and each substrate is different. Ideally you should make a profile for each combination you use - in the real world though, it's a good idea to make one for your "White" media using your ink and that should cover most issues.. Back to the...
  7. Anyone in the UK who uses ink from Digital Ink GB Ref Drying Issues?

They are probably using a different solvent - depends on how thick a layer youre laying down as to how quickly it will evaporate. Most solvent inks slightly dissolve the substrate, maybe yours isn't so it's just sitting on top instead of merging with it.
  8. Flexi 10.5 and i1 Pro 2

Or you can always generate a profile externally. I do it on all media, different Whites are not the same
  9. Dumb question time : vinyl cutter

It's basically a laminator with a powered takeoff spool. Easy enough to knock up if you really have a need.. Of course, it only copes with repetitive cuts such as labels
  10. Discussion Is it possible to succeed as a one man (woman) shop?

You can succeed as a one man/woman band, but there are issues.. You'll end up running around and not necessarily focusing on what needs to be done, rather one what you think is next. For signs you might get asked for installation - so that then becomes another issue. It all depends on how...
  11. Router, laser, or waterjet?

Lasers are great, but best thing to do is apply some vinyl and get it cut by someone with a fiber.. Routers are good, but you then have workholding issues. Waterjets are not really suitable - similar as lasers, but youve always got the issue of delamination.
  12. Gerber Edge FX printing 1200dpi in flexi possible?

I think it needs a firmware update to get 1200dpi, but... And don't quite me - if I recall 1200dpi only works with Omega. Check your firmware - see if updating that sorts Flexi
  13. Graphtec plotter

If you have any problems.. Just add any graphtec. That'll get it working. Then change models so see which one works best. The main difference will be how it aligns itself - Flexi10 didn't do much in that regards
  14. Graphtec plotter

Simply add a ce5000 - that's on flexi.. Doesnt need to be the exact model. They all use the same commands
  15. Ugh....WHY!?!?!

The static is the problem. You can get an ioniser gun that'll remove it, but yeah.. A Pita.. A tack cloth will remove them pretty easily though.. Just do it before removing the film, otherwise the static will just cover it in bits again
  16. Graphtec plotter

Flexi 10 will certainly connect to that without any problems
  17. Flexi issue with plotter offset

You've always got to remember the blade needs time to turn. The old gerber tangentials could just about do it as they rotated the blade to match the angle being cut and were slow, but small angles will always be a problem.also got to make sure the point of the blade is still there - that's an...
  18. Bit cooling when cutting aluminum

Well.. A vortex cooler is a pretty simple thing - basically just a tube with air being added unequally so it rotates - just like a dyson vaccum cleaner - cold air comes out the front - hot out the back. They work very well on aluminium, but the main thin to think about when cutting aluminium...
  19. opos eye replacement Summa D140SE

More the sensor itself - this is the complete issue - is it a red dot (laser) or invisible (or led)? Looks like it might be a mechanical fault of the overall assembly. Can you take it apart any more?
  20. Graphtec plotter

They've not really changed technology over the years - still virtual serial ports and hpgl underneath. But.. Tbh - it's a plotter with a blade - it's pretty simple technology wise - just a few bells & whistles being added over the years.
