    Hi Jim, One thing to always check when getting a 'carriage is not connected' error is the belt tension. 99 out of 100 times I've come across that error, the belt tension was off, or the belt itself was bad.

    well the control panels can go bad, although rare. There is only one ribbon cable that feeds the control panel, so remove and inspect the prongs and make sure they are all good and aligned properly. If a tech just replaced the power board and you're having power issues.....

    I can promise you, after installing over 100 Roland machines, they are not the same. The machines will not accept leading zeros. 192.168.050.100 will not work but 192.168.50.100 will.
