if you are consistently blowing a fuse 2 or 3 but not #1, then either your board is cooked, the head is bad or you have a cable terminal criss crossing with one next to it on the ribbon cables.
if you pulled a ribbon cable with the machine plugged in, or not fully discharged after unplugging it...
I honestly wouldn't try anything but the Roland Head cleaning solvent. I know what you mean about how it is oily and smears ink, but its the only thing Id use. Block off the captop lines and fill the caps up with the solution and park the head. Then unplug the machine overnight and let it soak...
likely, this is a profile mismatch. The same CMYK and RGB values from Illustrator or Flexi can print very different on the same printer if the embedded profile is different or just absent. (no profile embedded)
Make sure when youre saving you files to print, you're using the same color settings...
You have a VS machine, so I would not use a syringe for anything. The VS models have the choke valve built in for exactly this purpose. You want to do a choke clean from service mode. probably 2 of them and you'll be golden.
don't put in cleaner carts. no need to disconnect the pump. turn on the printer in service mode, go to ink type in the menu and select your configuration. done.
You must've done a pump up at some point, which erases which ink was in the printers memory. So, the printer is attempting to install new inks, as if it were new.
Go into service mode and select the ink type you had previously, as long as there is still ink in the lines and no air bubbles.
Pump up removes all the ink from the lines. So it will want you to remove the carts and insert 2 of the grey foam 'dummy' carts.
If you havent screwed the pooch yet and still have ink in the lines without bubbles, you can get out of pump up mode by putting the machine in service mode and...
basically the printer thinks its a new machine and wants to know which ink you are installing (since it thinks its new, its expecting ink to be installed).
You need to go into service mode (it should allow that if youre doing it correctly) and go into the ink menu and set it there.
I'm guessing...
a light choke will not resolve your issues. You need to be in service mode and do a few full chokes after replacing the captop.
And from the sounds of it you need to hire a tech before you contaminate all of the ink lines.
I visit Florida for service calls regularly.
You definitely have a mainboard or ribbon cable issue. There is no way you'll ever align the heads like that. Start with unplugging the machine and hitting the power button 10-15 times. Then pull all the long ribbon cables and check the ends and ensure none are bent and they are all seated...
