If you are using a windows driver to print to the Cannon you can print/cut with cut studio that comes with roland plotters I did this with my epson 7600.
I have 2 of these 1 at shop and 1 at home.

I have a couple of signs to do that will be indoors but in a window that gets a pretty good amount of sunlight (an old building with single pane non tinted windows.) The signs will hang from them ceiling.

In a 4x4 embroidery size there is not gonna be a lot of detail but why not get it digitized for embroidery from the drawing? It does not need to be a vector to digitize for embroidery.
