  1. First wrap - Fender Flairs Suck

Thanks guys, this is very helpful! Ok, I'll dish out some money and buy the 1005 cast :) 2005 calendered would be best for non-wrap signage on vehicles?
  2. First wrap - Fender Flairs Suck

On a wrap like this, would it work for me to remove the flaires, and print a separate chunk to go on the flaires? Or would it be impossible to get the flaire design and truck design to line up?
  3. First wrap - Fender Flairs Suck

Thanks for the compliments guys! :)
  4. First wrap - Fender Flairs Suck

Well, I did my first partial wrap yesterday. Pretty fun. The tailgate went great, turned out amazing. The side of the truck bed, however, was a pain in the but. Constant stretching to conform to the grooves along the bed and the fender flare at the same time. How do you deal with fender...
  5. Streaking? Head striking?

Nope, however, I did initially wipe it with a microfiber that had a little oil on it. I quickly went over it with a clean microfiber... Hopefully it will work! :)
  6. Streaking? Head striking?

I think I just found it when I took the cap off the machine. Looks pretty clean. I wiped it down. It honestly looks like it serves no purpose. What does it do?
  7. Streaking? Head striking?

Ok, I tried printing a smaller version, one on the right, and one on the left. As you can see, it did well with both. Once it starts, it doesn't usually go away. Seems like I have to mess with it, and maybe clean the heads or something to fix it... but I'm not really even sure that me...
  8. Streaking? Head striking?

Thanks for the replies! What cable? And where is the encoder strip located?
  9. Streaking? Head striking?

Ah, I should have posted this in the Mutoh section. I wasn't thinking.
  10. Streaking? Head striking?

Take a peak at the picture. This happens often that my printer does this, and it's always at the left end of the printer. I almost always use 30" media. Any recommendations? Should I raise the head when I'm printing on the 3mil calendered? Thanks!
  11. Mutoh and Flexi "Cannot Open Port"

Reminds me of the days when I used PC's, and I had to do a million steps to get anything to talk. Oh wait, I am using a PC ;)
  12. Mutoh and Flexi "Cannot Open Port"

It's directly connected with a crossover cat-5 cable. I just got it back up and running. I believe these are the steps I took to get it to finally talk again :) reset the SEH box reset the printer refreshed the SEH software reset Flexi PhotoPrint Reset the SEH box
  13. Mutoh and Flexi "Cannot Open Port"

Hello! I'm sorry I did not reply earlier. I thought this had been fixed, but I am still having problems. I believe it is checked, and I know that I at least have to reset the SEH box and maybe even the printer before it will start working again. Definitely a pain!
  14. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

If I go with a cast material with a better tack, like the 3M 180C, and go with a matte laminate (why would I need a laminate again?), would it hide overlaps? Right now, this Oracal 631 hides the overlaps very well.
  15. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

Thanks! It looks like this is just a cut vinyl, correct? If so, why would I need to laminate?
  16. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

I noticed that Arlons DPF 8000 can be applied to textured surfaces, including brick, with high heat. Should I print and try something like that?
  17. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

Went back this evening to apply heat. The whole right side Of the decal had already fallen down. :( The rest of the brown was peeling as well. I started applying heat to the brown and pressing it down with a cloth. Initially it looks amazing, almost like it's become part of the wall. As I'm...
  18. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

I was afraid of that happening so we just wiped the wall down good with microfiber rags. No solutions :)
  19. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

I tried installing the same brown material on my own home this evening, not a problem and we have a heavy knockdown finish. I applied some heat to the same test strip and it certainly made the adhesive more tacky. I think I'm going to go back to the customers tonight to go over everything with...
  20. Wall Vinyl NOT sticking

We did a large interior vinyl install for a customer today. I've never had such a problem with large interior vinyl before. We used Oracal 631 like we normally use. We wiped down the walls (though the walls were only painted a few weeks ago). During the installation, the edges kept coming off...
