    This is on our gs3250lx, not sure if it's exactly the same but... where the caliper is, is where that C-clip goes. Just realized this post is 6-7 months old now, but hopefully it helps someone else down the road.

    Post a picture of the top of the carriage. Is the carriage lift screw wobbling? Might be as simple as a C-clip that will need to be replaced...
