do you use the printer's heat settings or the settings in VersaCamm?
I have the machine set to 37/43 but use the RIP settings (typically 40/45)when the file is sent over. Then, the machine only has to increase the temp slightly and it doesn't take too long.
I've never had an issue with APC brand UPS's. I've had batteries in 2 out of 3 Tripp-Lite UPS's go bad within a year. They've sent replacements with no questions asked both times but I'd rather they just not crap out so fast in the first place.

I'm thinking this is the culprit too. Fold your vinyl over and make sure the holes from each side line up with each other. I've had a roll or two of Gerber's "Edge Ready" vinyl that was punched wrong.
I haven't seen the same sheet scan/full width scan behavior as you. I believe mine stays at sheet scan all the time. This means the carriage won't travel all the way across the media if it doesn't need to, right?

I've been getting by with just tweaking the stock profiles but I think its time to start getting serious and make my own media profiles.
I'm using VersaWorks 3.1.1 and a Roland VP-540. What do I need to buy to make this happen?
