are you using an icc profile appropriate for banner material? Wheres that font from you're cutting? or is it a logo you downloaded somewhere?

.SIT is usually a stuffit file (like Zip but on macs). Look online for stuffit expander and you can decompress the file.

Scratchdisk in RAM is the difference.. You gain speed by having say, 5 gb dedicated to a ram scratch so you see a marked speed increase over using hard drive space for scratchdisk. You can address as much ram as you have as scratchdisk even though the app itself is limited to 3gb.

With CS4 on the mac, all you really have to do is enable a couple plugins so you can use as much ram as you have as scratchdisk to speed things up.. The whole 64 bit vs 32 bit thing is overblown to say the least.

Hey all.. I have a lot of work I do where I dearly need a near screen print look of vector art.. nothing with any real gradients or shading, just solid colors. At th ISA show in orlando I looked at the Summa DC4 and it looked to me like it can put down a very solid color without the dithering...

I've been using both for a long time and personally prefer Illustrator.. it just feels better.. more polished. I have a feeling most people like Corel so much because it's 1/5th the price of the adobe package.. if price was equal there'd be a lot more Adobe support :)

Funny how you list backlit material as being something it the outdoor jr prints on.. I have yet to get even close to acceptable output on any backlit material with mine. Everything it prints looks awesome until you backlight it and then it looks like dung. The best answer from the world...

The syringe thing will work. Just suck some air through the color drain line with the head parked in the dampers.
