  1. favorite wrap vinyl

I think he meant regular colours in the 1080 line, not the textured line (carbon, brushed steel etc). Just order the 1080 carbon, its easy to work with and looks great. Have used it several times.
  2. My homemade vinyl racks

I like Oracal, but even more it's the relationship to the rep I like. Always very helpful, quick to respond and really great prices at that. And my loyalty to them is rewarded, I get the full discounted price for ordering a full roll, no matter how little I order, so if I need just 5 yards, the...
  3. Painting over full wrap

    Found it:http://youtu.be/5Wc3u2DdMAU
  4. Painting over full wrap

Can't remember where (but I think it was on here) I've seen a link to a video of someone spraying down a full trailer with some kind of vinyl/glue remover, and then just pressure wash it right off. Looked like a very effective solution to remove old wraps.
  5. My homemade vinyl racks

Keeping up with the others. I thought I'd show my basic but functional vinyl racks for my 24" rolls. Used some particle board sheets and some 2x4" found in the garage, and bought a load of (insert fancy word for broomhandle) material. Set about marking and drilling holes, 2 sheets at a time so...
  6. Wrap Experts Killer Camo

Since you want pink I guess the look is of the "urban camo" style? I'd just make my own layout as the others say, you are then totally free to adjust it to your actual project and make it unique with no repetition. I did this myself manually, on a rush job. Manually in the way of wrapping the...
  7. Some old design work from school :)

I can pull out my sketchbooks from school and post random stuff from them, mainly the work/design process to get to the end results in the portfolio I posted? Would that be something to see?
  8. But we did JUST what the customer ordered??

Found this gem on a local online newspaper, in an article about bad cake designs. So the customer calls in an order, somebody writes it down and hands the note to the decorator. Seems easy enough right? They need proofing in the cake business it seems :)
  9. Chrome Vinyl for Vehicles?

I'd say using this really depends on what you are using it for. Small cut letters for example (I figure this thread is about truck lettering) is far from ideal on a thick, air egress vinyl made for wrapping. It's like advising to use Oracal 970RA for cut graphics since it has a long durability...
  10. Looking for "Wow"... all I have is "ummm ok"

If you are meant to want to lay yourself under the knife, the logo should represent good taste and a good eye for aesthetics above all? How would you make it if YOU decided with the brief that it should be a pure typographical logo in a script font?
  11. What's a better tagline?...

"it is what it is" and "you don't see both sides at the same time".. the last one is maybe more for a car graphics company.
  12. Vinyl for color change

I do agree that using one of the better, well know brands will most likely give you least issues over time. I wrapped my old car in 1080 matte green immediately after the series was released here in Europe (september 2011). Chose this for the colour alone, since I have used 970RA on most other...
  13. Vinyl for color change

I don't think anyone can comment on longevity over 2-3 years on these vinyls, when they just about have been around for that long? Do you want answers on how 1080i holds up after 5-6 years? 1080 is about 2 years old, 970RA as well, Avery Supreme Wrap came out last year? You are asking people to...
  14. Some old design work from school :)

Thanks for the comments guys :) Yeah, I wish it was still like in school, where you had 2 weeks to fully do a single project, just focusing on that and having a room full of creative minds to spark ideas and directions while you worked on it. Not 2 weeks worth of different projects in one day...
  15. Hospital nurse found dead after prank call on Catherine

Yeah, it's easy to throw around statements like this when you are not involved in any way. But what if this happened to your child or partner? That they saw themselves in some kind of situation that they could not see they way out of? Would you still say F them for being weak and selfish as...
  16. Wrap for fun

wrap for fun? as a first try? It will only be fun for those who bring a lawn chair and a sixpack to watch this :D Other than that, spending the $100 or so on Justin Pate's instructional dvds at least helps you with a minimum amount of basic knowledge to begin such a task. Or attend a training...
  17. Some old design work from school :)

I was categorizing some old hard drives, and I found this old pdf that shows some of my old design work, mostly from school. Also some actual projects that have been set to life, like the logo designs for the bowling alley, freelance writer (Meyers) and car forum (evo.no). All of these are from...
  18. Pantone Plus Color Chart

How many of you have a actual Pantone Formula Guide though? The ones issued by Pantone themselves. These are off course 100% true in colour, and should be used to verify that your printer actually prints the correct colours. They also have cmyk conversion digits for each pms colour. Not cheap...
  19. ugly expensive job...

Hard to tell from the picture, but one possible reason might be this: One building we installed some dimensional signs to was made of concrete elements with small rocks/gravel/pebbles (don't know the right word) embedded in the fascia. So we had to chisel out the rocks where the holes and pins...
