  1. Large vehicle graphics

What do you mean? Also, I'll probably be using a High Performance Cast Arlon for this project if that helps.
  2. Large vehicle graphics

Hahaha, I'm sorry. Here it is.
  3. Large vehicle graphics

Ignore the printed window wrap ;) I'll be installing these large die-cut graphics this weekend. On the large logo, should I just lay the black over the red heart? Or should I try to piece the black inside the heart perfectly? And if so, how do I do that? Also, if I'm doing this on both sides...
  4. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

Gotcha. That's what I was thinking. What's the print quality difference between a JV3 and a JV33? Is it considerable? Or is it just that the JV3 is old? If I got the JV3 for $1.5k, and it didn't have a decent enough resolution, I still couldn't go after the jobs that I want to since my...
  5. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

I called the company again this morning. It was a JV3-160 SP :( Bummer. Oh well!
  6. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

I think I got a killer deal on my Gerber Edge and Envision plotter. Wasn't near as expensive as these new laminators. Can't seem to find any good used ones either.
  7. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

Thanks! Amazing how expensive laminators are! More than any piece of equipment yet.
  8. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

Thanks guys! I'm pretty sure they said it was a 64" JV33... Ill double check. I said print heads, plural, because I just assumed it had multiple :) I'm glad to hear they can run ecosol. My summa is an opus machine, just so I would be ready to upgrade. I got the call about this printer the...
  9. Mimaki JV33 for growing business?

I have the opportunity to buy a Mimaki JV33 printer for $4000. It's about 6 years old. The current owners are upgrading to a newer, faster latex printer. They say the print heads are good, but that in high production mode, it doesn't print very well. On slow print it prints perfectly. I have...
  10. Arlon Intermediate Calendered

Gotcha. That is good to know! :)
  11. Arlon Intermediate Calendered

I busted out a roll of white Arlon Intermediate Calendered vinyl today. It's been on the rack for probably over a year. Anyways, I was trying to cut tons of these little decals. However, no matter what I tried, I could NOT get it to weed smoothly. My cut depth was good(messed with it several...
  12. Booth at the Fair?

I have a Gerber Edge 2 Thermal printer and plotter :) I also have a 54" Summa plotter. Think a Gerber printer would be much use at a fair?
  13. Booth at the Fair?

Thanks again everyone! This has been very educational :)
  14. Booth at the Fair?

That is really interesting. Thanks for sharing that with me. Do you pack all of your equipment to these shows and make stuff right there? Also, if the carnies weren't there, do you still think it would be worth going? Lastly, can you make good money making custom die-cut car, and wall decals...
  15. Booth at the Fair?

That's really cool. I'm hoping to be into a large printer and laminator in the next year. Curious, how big is your fair? Our fair is fairly small. I live in a medium sized tourist town :) So, we definitely get tens of thousands of people, but nothing like a big city fair. Are you in a big city?
  16. Booth at the Fair?

Wow. Thanks for the reply. Trailer wraps? That would involve a printer, right? That would be a lot of equipment! I don't have a large format printer at this time, just a really large plotter :)
  17. Booth at the Fair?

I have the opportunity to have my sign business be in a booth at this year's county fair. 5 gruiling days of 10AM to 10PM. Have any of you had fair experience? Would it be worth me taking my new Summa 54" plotter to make custom car decals and wall vinyls for people? Are their some pre-done...
  18. Installation Bubbles

Thanks guys! I typically use Oracal High Performance. Would you consider that off brand?
  19. Installation Bubbles

I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos, tried both the horizontal and vertical hinge methods, and I still get bubbles with dry installs. What am I doing wrong? Are bubbles just normal to a degree?
  20. Brushed Aluminum

Thanks Fred! And you'd be comfortable with that on an outdoor work truck application?
