Oh, I was excited for a minute, I thought that you got a picture of the Comet. That's Venus in the middle of the frame. The comet would have been on the upper left corner of the pic. Wonder if you played with the levels you could find it.
Piled the family into the car and drove up to Ohio to see it. The weather reports weren't encouraging, but the day of, the skies were relatively clear and we got a beautiful show. We were in totality for about 3 minutes. Really magical experience.
Almost 12 hours in a car for 3 minutes and...
Didn't see this until now, I run an EFI Pro 16h, too. I wouldn't have been able to solve your problem, but as to the "should I shut down the computer every night" question, I don't think that would be a terrible idea.
We leave our computer on every night and we just put the EFI into sleep...
Interesting. Could be a lot of things. When you cut circles, the machine is scanning and feeding at the same time the whole way. It could be that it just seems slower, or it could be that the voltage is dropping or that the feed speed is set at a different value than the track speed.
I have...
Sounds to me like your method works well. I'm trying to think of a better way, and while I don't think this would be better, another way would be to do this like a push through. Route out everything except the letters out of a thicker piece of acrylic, about 3/4 of the depth of the material...
Orajet 3551 might not be your best option for wrapping cars for a couple of reasons. The first is that is is a calendared vinyl. Calendared vinyl will shrink over time, and this will cause all sorts of problems on the surface that you wrapped. The second reason is that the adhesive is...
Yeah, dialing the right settings to perf the mask and the backing paper might be tricky. And come to think of it, rolling in a taped chunk of shapes might start working everything off of the backing paper.
It'll be tricky.
Oh... well, hmm...The trick is going to be the second cut, isn't it. I mean, you'll load up the machine with vinyl and then run it through the plotter. Then you'll take it to the table and weed it, then tape it... and then you'll need a way to get it back in the plotter so that it cuts right...
The best way to get accurate measurements is to go to the site and actually take accurate measurements. I understand this isn't always possible and I've been in the same boat you are in, so we do what we can with what we've got.
I never go by the "average sized brick" or the "average sized...
So, you're wanting to print, maybe laminate, then cut to the edge of the green, weed, mask, then perf cut along the red outline? Am I hearing this right?
Any chance they want to update to a newer, more attractive font? Maybe you could sell them on a total rebrand? Grab the brass ring and re-do everything - business cards, window graphics, everything they've got.
Strange. Am I seeing this correctly? Is the white base coat just straight up flaking off? It looks like these pieces are separating from the substrate altogether and taking the print with them.
You said you were wiping everything down with alcohol; this might be a stupid question, but you...
We recently found out that Flexi's SAI has a pretty nice selection of vehicle templates by make model and year. Or, you can go straight to the source at Art Station. Again, no VIN#, but make model and year. You can do a separate VIN search to link a vehicle with all the details...
I use an EFI, so I don't have the same machine you do, but I would be curious to see the failures look like. Just the whole print shrivels up or flakes off?
Would you mind posting a picture?
It's hard to see exactly in your pictures. Is the material there shrinking or is it curling?
My first thought was that you were laminating and contour cutting it too quickly after it was printed. If inks (or the solvents evaporating off) are introduced to the adhesive, it'll degrade. This...
