Just offer full disclosure to the client and give them the choice. Tell them that ideally you would remove the old stuff and then apply the new ones but because of the possibility of the surface not being good enough for another application you think it might be a good idea to just apply it over...
This happens to everyone in our company except for me.
The reason it doesn't happen to me is because I have a system.
First of all I religiously avoid putting any notes down on paper. Why ? Well first of all paper is very easily lost but more importantly to look for something physical takes...
What kinds of speeds are you looking to get out of it ?
What's your main market ?
What do you print on your current one/what do you want to print ?
We are currently running 3 printers. One is a VS-640 and is our high quality printer. On it we do the fine stuff like smaller car wraps...
My thoughts exactly. I am not originally from the signage business so I always ask why things are done and it has been extremely beneficial to me in every aspect of business. Seems that we have had similar experiences.
I honestly think if you're willing to ask a lot of questions, look deeply...
I've found something over the years. If you really want to you can learn business pretty quickly and if you ask some of the people that work with me how it is they will most likely tell you that I'm a pain in the *** and the reason that is, is because I always ask why you do something. What I...
I meant I didn't know about push through letters.
To answer your earlier question in our case the letter itself acted as the diffuser, it was 10mm transparent acrylic in which we would mill a channel and put leds into it. Then we would put a light coating, like a frosting, on the edges to...
Oh sure. These guys are a bit strange though.
Most people wonder why the African prince scam is so obvious and why the scammers don't mix it up a bit to make it look and sound legit. The reason they don't do that is because they WANT it to sound ridiculous and the reason for that is...sending...
Contrary what someone else said there is such a thing as free advice, we're giving and receiving it daily here at signs101 after all.
I have a background in internet marketing, mostly SEO but some Adwords experience came through the years as well. IM was my main gig before I became a partner...
One thing I want to add that I forgot in my OP before I start answering your questions.
This isn't really related to organization but it was another huuge problem for us. Quality Control. We had quite a few embarrassing scenarios with products that went out faulty. This was due to a lack of...
I'm trying to think of ways to recreate this thing because as mention we have a very, very similar product but the glow intensity and distribution of the light isn't quite there yet.
I doubt that it's anything that convoluted and complicated, after all it's not Google making the sign, it s...
I've gotten some good info out of this community and since I have a bit of time I thought I'd contribute a bit.
One of the biggest problems in our company was organization. As far as organization was concerned we basically worked on whatever we could remember on top of our head. Of course this...
Bah, I admit I'm tech savvy but the issue of another RIP should never deter you from a good machine, you'll usually learn it in a few days as long as you know to use some other rip properly.
I'm not saying Latex is bad, quite the contrary. I'm saying that HP seems to be run by ***holes around...
What we did was mill a channel into the acrylic and set LED strip to shine to the edges but it doesn't shine nearly as evenly or as brightly so pretty sure this isn't the solution.
I think he might be asking for stockpiling purposes.
We keep a few different sizes in stock for our own good, to get the most efficient use of media without having to throw away too much. We keep everything from 1m to 1.6m in stock as far as frontlit banner goes. For vinyl it's 80-160cm.
What do you think, how did they guys make the letters in the attachement ?
We have a very similar product but it doesn't shine nearly as well, and we're using the best and strongest LEDs we could get our hands on, and it also isn't as even as in the example below ?
Any theories on how it's made ?
