  1. Wrapping in the cold

its -25 celcius right now here. Often wrap city busses at a temp of 5-10 celcius (41f-50f) Cars in our shop get shipped out from a nice warm shop into -25c. Just takes longer, and you cant pull things back to reposition as quickly or it can crack the vinyl. And do a very healthy post heat.
  2. Bernsomatic flame spreader?

YUP it hardens the seals and just the liability factor.
  3. Bernsomatic flame spreader?

We have a weed burner and love it for removing trailer wraps...however it is NOT ALLOWED according to safety regulations at the transit shop. My little handheld is pushing the limit...had to take a 1 hour training course on open flame safety lol. Union safety stuff.
  4. Bernsomatic flame spreader?

Anyone use a torch flame difuser like this http://www.bernzomatic.com/PRODUCTS/SOLDERANDACCESSORIES/ACCESSORIES/tabid/283/ctl/Detail/mid/1275/xmid/6973/xmfid/3/Default.aspx I use my portable torch to remove city transit wraps. Works ok, just a little to concentrated flame I think. I was...
  5. Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Car Wrap

Mine when a kid, cut the block in half...cut one half into a triangle...stacked em...stuck a snoopy figurine on top....weighted....took top prize for looks. Way to top heavy and barely made it down the ramp.
  6. Pink Camo partial wrap

take any camo and colorize it in photoshop
  7. prepering... bus wrap

In all honesty, I rarely do any vertical panels on vehicals any more. Only supplied decals. Only did one highway bus coach, was no more difficult than any other bus, just new locations of access doors, windows and other holes and such.
  8. Box truck wrap help

We stopped wasting time worrying about cost of the proper material for the job a long time ago. Just use 180 already and get it done. Or whatever you prefer as a proper wrapping film.
  9. prepering... bus wrap

City transit bus, no rivets, flat sides, front/back/sides/window perf = 2 days with 2 people. 3.5 days by myself. I do sides in 4 20ft panels starting at bottom rear, bottom front, top rear, top front. Its not the slapping, its the trimming of all the window seals/edges that takes all the...
  10. Any problems with this wrap?

Client already has far more eyecatching attention than any graphic or wrap could ever do. Would be fun to decal something like that.
  11. the wraptore

Combine that with a weedburner torch the worlds largest rollepro.
  12. New wrap I finished last night...

  13. Current hot spots??

i cand speek of hot but I can tell you of a frozen spot for wraps....really picking up fast here.
  14. New wrap I finished last night...

Diddo on the topper, curved text and phone. Just print a piece for the topper that fades up from the yellow into white. Since you should reprint that curved text anyway. We would patch in a piece (only background fade) that covers the curvy text with seams at the door and body line...
  15. Current hot spots??

Anyplace that has lots of billboards around.
  16. take off molding or leave it on?

We most often wrap right over. The customer knows that this is a bonus, and if it sticks it stays...if it fails it comes off. If we have to remove the molding, the its fishing line and lacqer thinner. I also found that braided line works better than mono. Thinner and stronger.
  17. How to tell if customer is mistreating their wrap?

No such thing as hand washing here. -28 celcius...aint no one standing outside with a bucket and sponge. So we just assume its going through a touchless wash or a pressure washer. We instruct to not go blasting away at the wrap at very close range. And how to power wash the edges and overlaps.
  18. Newbie needs help

We often install bus wraps in a transit holding warehouse that gets at most 50 farenheit. Often dipping well below 30 when all the route busses are entering and leaving. 3M vinyl. Never had a failure yet. Slap it all on and a little post heating and call it a day. You just cant snap the...
  19. We've Been Wrap Busy

My guess is Ford sponsored part of the wrap.
  20. Window Perf

Yup, cant see throug it if it rains on unlaminated perf. Interesting results scraping ice off windows with unlaminated perf as well. Removal is much easier when laminated as well. Any air in the perf holes seems to always work itself out over a few weeks. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
