  2. Am I Paranoid?

I let all my vinyls and application tapes, get to room temperature before cutting or applying. I have always done this, but have also wondered if I was just paranoid about expansion and contraction of the materials.

I bought a 27" mac last summer and LOVE IT, even though all my software is running in Windows on it. I also have an iPod Touch and it is awesome too. BUT...... DO NOT even try to take my DROID X away. IMO better that the iPhone.
  4. Losing repeat orders...

I understand where you are coming from in doing follow ups with your customers. However... You are not selling furniture, cars, or mobile homes, all of which I have done, and where a buying decision is usually going to be made within 24 - 36 hours from when the customer actually starts...

I welcome the Cricut with open arms, because the soccer moms come to me for the vinyl too. But I don't stock 631 and I explain the difference to them but they don't care. Not to mention the blades fit ROLAND holders, they are super cheap in comparison and last just as long as any other blade...

I just can't pin point this one. I have one that is close (Guardi Black) but it's not correct, and the numbers are completely different. I blacked out the middle because it is just a standard Helvetica. Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED. Thanks. JD
  11. Bumping Heads w/ the Internet

I do stock a few coroplast blanks and frames. I usually keep about a dozen of them in stock. But I'm not going to give them away. I'm in a town of about 3500 people and do get a lot of local business from town and surrounding communities. I stock around 75 different colors of vinyl. Always...
  12. Bumping Heads w/ the Internet

I do good work and stand behind everything I sell. I (as far as I know) am the only sign shop in the area that will replace a magnet set free of charge if it blows off, in the first 3 months. I've only had to do it once in the last 5 years due to a weak magnetic roll I had received and the...

  14. Bumping Heads w/ the Internet

Curious as to how other owners of small shops handle it when a customer comes in and asks for a price quote on something then tells you they can get it online for a lot cheaper. Case in Point: 24 Double sided 24"x 18" coroplast signs with wire stakes. My Price $10 each. (They are all...
  15. File Import Problems

I am having problems opening .png files in Flexi. When they are opened in Photoshop or Corel they have the Transparent background. But when opened/imported into Flexi they still look like the original uncut photo. Converting it to an .eps, psd, gif, or jpg does not work either. I have...
  16. Metalized Vinyl

I'm going to be putting big wide chrome stripes on a pickup and have tried using R/O water instead of any commercial application fluid. It seems to work fine on the test strips I've done but just wondering if anyone else has any other ideas, since everything I've read says install dry. Thanks
  17. Customer hasn't paid for his sign after 3 months, can I take it down...?!

All I know is I got stiffed by an auto dealership in my town. ( Me and a lot of other businesses). EVERYONE found out about it AFTER THEY FILED BANKRUPTCY and NO ONE HAS SEEN A CENT. I would get the sign back if I were you, maybe you can recycle it to some extent. And if you do REPO your sign...
