So we just fired off some MSDS's to our hazmat guy and he calls back saying that we need to "stabilize" the (new) UV printer's waste ink before he'll come and get it. Ironically, he doesn't seem to know how to do this, just that it has to be done. So we get on the phone with the sales rep that...
That manual was obviously a mechanical translation that probably got a hasty once-over from an overworked, pissed-off engineer. Furthermore it wouldn't surprise me even a little if it came to light that they'd used a dartboard to determine how they ordered the chapters/sections/whatever...
Now I don't know what havok Onyx might visit on this process (we use Cutting Master) but the instructions for telling the plotter where you've got the blade physically installed into the machine are on page 2-32 of that same manual you posted the picture from.
To riff on this, lose the frame and the mountain / wave elements. Keep "Sandia Park" all caps, and then make the first A in Sandia a mountain peak, and use the counter in the A in Park to make the shape of a wave.
Tricky, but it might work if you post off the right font.
You were sitting on this the entire time? Seriously? This is really good. You second guess yourself too much. Have someone you know and trust smack you in the back of the head for me.
For the embroidering just use the arched banner w/ "PATRIOTS" on it. Big franchises always have a simplified...
I think it's a pretty big step backwards, honestly. It's not just the space under the swoop, either. The problem with using a cap or a big cap at the front end of an arched word is that it jams you up at the tail end. How do you fill the space over "IOTS" now?
Still, this is your work and...
I think that's a hell of a lot better. You're not fighting the natural lines of the font, and you don't have any odd little pockets of negative space in or around the logo.
Now personally, if this weren't stitched onto a lacrosse player's jersey, I wouldn't immediately know that it was a...
Check your swatch palette, and see if there's not a color in the artwork that doesn't match your colorspace. What I mean is that if it's a CMYK file, see if there's an RGB swatch somewhere on the page, or vice versa. That's kind of an oddball longshot, but the last time I saw that kind of...
I like Serpentine, but what's best about the font kinda gets lost when it's warped like that. I know it's a fairly sweeping change, but maybe try some kind of heavy script, or not warping the text?
There's really no accounting for taste. I just finished up the graphics + printing on this horrible green tribal wrap for this guy's boat.
What makes this even better is that I based all the graphics on these cell-phone pictures of some other guy's boat. I tell the installer as we're...
