Amen.
Curious on TS issue with Grimco? I had this some conversation some time ago with a Grimco rep and he recommended everything that seemed to work out better.
But we are referring to the crop marks the Cutter will read (cutting via Cut Server)
CutServer has no option to place more than 4 crop marks around the outside of the art, while if you generate crop marks in Illustrator via Cutting Master or Finecut, you can add segmented crop marks.
That is one of the things I am surprised Onyx hasn't included in their Cut Server - segmented crop marks.
Because of this, I find cut jobs longer than 4ft seem to track off and cut a bit less accurate, so I have to go the route of doing it through Illy plugins
Trying to wrap my head around the setup
So the switch is the middleman...but what I don't understand is you said you have a crossover cable going to one of the components....should be standard ethernet/network cables.
Does the printer have an option to change or view the IP address?
If so, ping the address in a "cmd" window.
ping 192.168.x.x or whatever it is. If you get no data loss, you should be good.
I know a few companies (traffic companies) who print directly to the 3M reflective using their HP Latex printers.
As for how to do it without the printing direct, I can't help you.
Why not use the 3M window perf profile?

Vacuum could be too high too.
If you are running flexi, make sure it's closer to 20-30.
I had Banner once and accidently set the value and 90 and it wouldn't advance, get bunched up, and bam...jam up.
Keep in mind the above temps might still produce a wavy or slightly wrinkly print on the 3M reflective, but once applied to an aluminum blank using a roller applicator, it sits flat just fine.
