I want to thank all of those that helped us arrive at a printer solution. We had a lot of PMs and emails and even a phone call to Hawaii, all with good info on what direction to take with this new printer. We ended up with the HP 25500 and we're excited about it. It will be here by tuesday I...
We say........ "We manufacture appliques", but you have to pronounce it like "applikhays". Exhale on the last 4 letters so it sounds breathy and exotic. Make sure you have a hanky in your hand and touch it to your lips briefly after saying the word. It makes ladies get "vapory" and little kids...
BigfishDM I'm sorry we didn't see your post earlier. We bought a L25500 this afternoon. The price was $13,575.00 with the loader and $1,000.00 worth of start-up films all delivered to our door. Tomorrow is the last day of the HP discount promotion and we couldn't imagine a better deal that that...
This is Latigo's very first solo carving. It's a 7' x 8'. The Doc brought in his own Lab, his wife's long haired Chihuahua and the Clinic blood donor cat. We illustrated them directly on the PM and the chips flew. When the dust settled, this is what Lat had done. Not bad for a first time...
Thank you everyone for the very informative info. One question we do not have an answer for yet is, will the L25500 print on standard 2mill metallic vinyl film? I have also read a post or two about wrap films becoming slightly more aggressive after printing. Is this true? Is it more aggressive...
3M 9485PC is their most agressive and we use it here all the time for laminating metals to acrylic, Sintra and Dibond.
Be aware that the 12" roll of 180 yards is a cool $680.00
Alcohol and Scotchbrite are a critical part of the laminating process.
Ok. I take it all back, Dave.:Big Laugh Actually, I hadn't thought of that. But I do recognize that my day has come and gone. My son is a definite techie, but I'm fortunate that he also inherited the abilty to do realistic carvings.
Funny how perceptions of talents have changed. Back in my day we slung brushes. If you couldn't hand letter and illustrate with a brush and paint and make it look as if it were printed you weren't going to get work at all. My own schooling was in an honest to gosh graphics school for...
Our Mutoh Falcon Outdoor just died, but no complaints. It ran for 8 years with the ususal maintenance station, pump and head replacements. It's paid for itself many times over. The only reason for replacing it now is that the heater circuit boards are no longer made or available.
After paying...
We've seen the top speed of this unit spec'd as 313 sf/ph, but does anyone know the true production speed? Does it equate in resolution to 1/2 of the top speed for banners etc? Mutoh specs don't seem to show anything other than it's top speed with the lowere resolution.
We've narrowed it down...
What the heck is a Chernabog?? I'm probably dating myself, but that's a new one for me. I think maybe 52 years in the art business dated me anyway. Oh well........
It's time for a new printer and we value your experience and opinion. Now that you have had your HP Latex printer for a while, what do you think about it now? What would you say are the real world pros and cons of these machines? We are currently considering buying an l25500 but are a little...
Hey Doug! Good to see your name again! Outside of my own programming computer I know next to nothing about any of our equipment. I wold nbe extremely greatful if Lat could talk to you.
I'm in year 4 of retirement now but I'm still at the studio every day at 4:am. I can't seem to stay away. As...
