  1. Just kill me now! Roland issues again!

Yeah, and that one printed just fine at 12" wide. I know this machine and rip well enough to test colors and print quality at a reduced size, and pretty sure anyone who owns a printer/cutter does the same...
  2. External hard drive

Or, if you don't mind putting the drive together, get one of these or similar: http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-2-5-IDE-HDD-Hard-Drive-Disk-Enclosure-Case-K_W0QQitemZ230275924630QQihZ013QQ then buy yourself a nice, large hard drive! I have a couple of these types of external drives and use them to...
  3. Just kill me now! Roland issues again!

Customer made a billion changes to colors and fonts, which resulted in that "thing" above. Design was initially done in Corel, with manipulation in Photoshop. Tech at Roland was extremely nice and pretty knowledgable, and we sorta reproduced the issue on his machine, but because of time...
  4. Just kill me now! Roland issues again!

Well, can't seem to save my arse today if my life depended on it! Been trying to get a file to print since last week for a sign we're doing (along with a bunch of other stuff for my client, this whole job has been a nightmare!) and for the life of me, I can't get this machine to print properly...
  5. Anyone Ever Seen A Cleaner Version Of This?

Have you two swapped logins or something? You crazy old farts!!! Chris
  6. Anyone Ever Seen A Cleaner Version Of This?

Yup! That's exactly what I do! In fact, I just remembered that I have to get a cd over to one of my clients with their artwork I cleaned up for them! Glad I read this thread! Thanks for the reminder folks!!! Chris
  7. Proper vinyl for drywall?

While some may think this is totally unrealistic and silly to do, I printed directly to Oracal 200 lam (satin finish), cut it and masked just like any other vinyl. Installed it and its in place well with absolutely no peeling up. There's a thousand ways to skin a cat, this one just works for...
  8. whats a good 50"s font

Magneto and Rocket Script are a couple of good 50's style fonts too. Chris
  9. Corrupted EPS?

And always, ALWAYS, save the original files as cdr's before you export them! I've learned many years ago that corel will crash when you really need something done, it just knows somehow! Just had this happen yesterday afternoon at 4PM and ended up having to redo 10 minutes of work because it...
  10. pen tool question

For simple stuff that really doesn't require good paper, I have a roll of 30" white butcher paper. Works well with my Roland CX300 and I don't get any wrinkling. I slow the unit down a lot though, or pull the entire length of paper I need to draw off the roll, as the roll is way too heavy for...
  11. Really Off Topic- about CD changers

Yep, he's got it right. 128k is FM radio quality, 192k is "near" cd quality, 224k is almost identical in sound to 256k, which is CD quality, and 320k is pretty close to an exact digital duplicate of a CD. I usually rip at 256k(stereo, high quality settings set in Lame/Audiograbber) if its a...
  12. Nonstop viruses, can't get rid of them?

BWAAAAHAAHAHAAA!!!!! That's funny! Actually, if you install McAfee on your system, isn't that just like installing spyware? Let's think about this one, it installs a billion packages on your computer, slows your machine down immensely by having all their crap running at all times, programs seem...
  13. HELP! Any Registy pros here???

Do some searching around on the internet for a program called RegCleaner, it will search the registry for keys that aren't specifically named program XXXX, but are related to program XXXX. Its quite old and doesn't always work properly, but its one of the safest registry cleaners I've found...
  14. it's here!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! IT'S HUGE!!!!!! Okay, next trip home to see family, I'm taking a spin over to Maui to see this thing in person!!!:thumb: Absolutely amazing, Doug! Congrats on the expansion!!! Chris
  15. Really Off Topic- about CD changers

Not a problem any more! Costco (and a hundred other superstores I'm sure!) now sells a USB turntable! Costco's Turntable Haven't used it yet, but it probably does a decent job at ripping vinyl to mp3. I'm thinking of getting one just because it allows you to rip (via software) 78rpm records...
  16. Really Off Topic- about CD changers

I'm still old school with ripping music, use a program (which is now freeware) called Audiograbber, and use the Lame encoder at 256K. I then play it through my computer via Winamp, and pipe it into my Pioneer stereo system via digital coaxial cable. So, there's really nothing that you have to...
  17. VersaWorks Changing Colors

could be a different ICC profile when saved in Quark. I haven't used Quark in at least 10 years, so I don't recall any of the settings at all, but that could cause it to shift. It could also be the way it was exported to pdf too. Glad you found a working solution to the color issue! Chris
  18. Need to identify this font.

I stand corrected!!! Nice job guys!!! Chris
  19. Need to identify this font.

Femme looks like Verdana, but the Fokai is probably hand-drawn. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone else will correct me! Chris
  20. Corel X3 error message

glad to hear the reset worked. It usually does, and so far (knock on wood!!!!) the last reset of mine about 4 months ago has resulted in Corel working perfectly since! On a related note, I had to format my rip machine and reinstall everything about 2 weeks ago, and after installing Corel X3, I...
