  1. Looking for a similar font

    Awesome, thank you!!!
  2. Looking for a similar font

I am pretty sure this is not a font I will find, as it looks like something that was customized from an athletic font, but I am looking for something similar. Preferably a block font that has the little swash/cutouts in the letters. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
  3. Mexican Restaurant Rebrand

This restaurant (local to my shop) has been using the chili pepper in his logo/signage for decades, I really wouldn't be worried about it.
  4. Mexican Restaurant Rebrand

I am so glad to see you working on this Phillip!!! Looks soooo much better than the original. I hope I am the one who gets to produce these signs, and I hope he updates his original existing signage with this new look, too. Nice work!
  5. help find graphic

If you aren't able to do this in photoshop, a simple google search for "vector halftone patterns" will yield plenty of results... try these http://mediamilitia.com/halftones-pack-55-free-vectors-brushes-and-images/
  6. Markup Question

+1 Don't try to make a killing on product that you aren't even touching, chances are that at least one of your competitors can either produce the order in-house, or are willing to do it for less. This doesn't sound like a creative project, just production so you probably don't have much of an...
  7. Accepting Credit Cards

Square charges the same rate of 2.75% for any card and every card. Debit, MC, Visa, Discover, Amex, personal or corporate. Everything is the same. The only other rate you need to know is that when you key in the card instead of swiping it, you are charged a higher rate, which is 3.5% I believe.
  8. Accepting Credit Cards

I was wrong, I just checked and actually, over the last 12 months I have averaged about $3,500-4000/mo in credit card payments (more than I originally thought). So that equals $100-110/mo in processing fees and I still wouldn't consider changing back to a traditional merchant account.
  9. Accepting Credit Cards

Wow, this sounds familiar... I, too, had a merchant account with these guys. In an average month, I may only receive $2,000 in credit card payments (most orders are paid with check). Merchant Solutions salesman guaranteed that I had a minimum monthly charge of $10 (in a case where I swiped zero...
  10. Ugh, can someone help

We get crap like this fairly often. What I usually end up doing (which defeats the entire purpose of having a vector) is I open it in photoshop at the largest resolution that I can imagine ever needing the file (something like 4' x 8' @300ppi) and select all the layers and create an outline...
  11. Since when is this kosher?

It is obvious that I have had limited experience with using these PVC post sleeves, but they just don't seem like they would be strong enough. Or, as stated above, they just weren't installed properly.
  12. Since when is this kosher?

Why do you reply to threads without reading them first? This post never asked for advice on how to build the sign.... that part of my job is already finished. I was simply asking why someone would build the sign out of hollow PVC post sleeves and expect it to last in a city with consistent high...
  13. Since when is this kosher?

There is more than one way to skin a cat.... your way is not the only way, and my way is not wrong. I did seriously consider building this sign more than one way. New 4x4 posts and PVC sleeves (since the existing sleeves were torn apart) with all of the proper hardware would have cost about the...
  14. Since when is this kosher?

Ya think? But the posts sleeves were 6x6-ish and 4x4's would look chinsey in this case (or a step down from the look they had, at least). We aren't using 6x6's because 4x4 wouldn't be adequate, it is only for aesthetics. I wish we could have used 4x4's, I would have been done with this project...
  15. Since when is this kosher?

There were horizontal pieces connecting each side, but I would have at least had my posts go the entire height of the sleeves. The entire sign was attached only to hollow pvc sleeves. I don't know, maybe something like this would fly in other areas, I still wouldn't build it this way. The area...
  16. Since when is this kosher?

I've never seen this before, and I would never attempt it... There is a 4x4 post in the ground, about 3' above grade. Then there is a PVC post sleeve over it, hollow above the 4x4 post (total height approx. 9'). Two posts like this were supporting a 4' x 4' alumalite panel mounted between them...
  17. reflective decals that somehow are not that visible on police cars

I'm trying to find my post on this from a few years ago.... I posted some pictures of a ford explorer that we did this way, it is navy blue and we matched the paint color with printable reflective. Turned out really well, you can't even see the graphics in the day time. I took two pictures of...
  18. How to back-spray large translucent face?

Yeah, I'm checking with Hendricks Vacuum Forming to see if this is something they could do for me.... it would really be a shame to pass on this project, as I already passed on the removal/installation of the sign faces since they are 45' in the air... customer then called me back and said he...
  19. How to back-spray large translucent face?

The background isn't white, it is yellow.... so, next question is, does anyone have recommendations for someone I could job this out to? Preferably in the Chicagoland area? Thanks again for the replies, I appreciate the input.
  20. How to back-spray large translucent face?

Thanks for the replies. I first called about the spraylat paints and it seemed that no one who answered the phone knew anything about the product or who they could even direct me to in order to get more information. Then I found the gripflex paints from Wensco, so I am trying to get more...
