  1. Font to identify

Thanks all, job's done. You're right, some italics looks like a different font:U Rock:
  2. Font to identify

Right on buddy. Thanks. I missed it 'cause bold & bold italic are slightly different as for roundness. What would I do w/o this forum? LOL
  3. Font to identify

'Been called in a rush 'cause another shop did this sign for an event but forget one sponsor. As they are closed for a week, the sponsor (a client of mine) ask me if I can match the font and type his name. 'Went throught the 800 (?) fonts I have here and nothing match perfectly but I'm sure I...
  4. Never thought it would happen......................

It happened to me last year... even if the business owner signed the approuval, he told me I should know how to write all the texts properly (he meant by that correcting his own typo errors). The PDF I sent him had a big warning in capital letters saying I'm not responsible for any mistakes...
  5. The Olympics logo

I'd rather see any helvetica-like font instead of the one used for London 2012. 'Can't figure they have been paid that much for that. *li'l story of my neighborhood: In my li'l town, the new logo design has been given to a designer from another place instead of encouraging local talents...
  6. Inexpensive Air-Release Vinyl Options

I use Avery 2903EZ for most of my daily coro signs, decals and budget jobs. 'Prints fine, natural white (not grayish or blueish like the 3651) and 'been trouble-free so far. 3165RA is my 2nd pick if the 2903 is b/o. 'Work pretty the same but Oracal cost a li'l more.
  7. Inexpensive Air-Release Vinyl Options

I pay $241.65 for the Oracal 3165RA from a warehouse next to you (Alberta)
  8. Laminate Nightmare on Perf

From my experience with the 290F (Oracal), it's "foggy" for the first days but settle after that period. It's not "perfectly" clear but good enought to be considered "safe" for viewing outside. The layer of adhesive cannot be 100% as it's "floating" on the glass. The adhesive's back turns...
  9. 3m 8518

If you look at Oracal 290 overlaminate, it states it's 50yds. If you put a roll of 290G next to a 290F, it's exactly the same material but the liner is different (paper vs. polyester) so it's obvious that the F roll look smaller BUT IT HAS TO BE 50yds LONG, no matter what liner it's laid on...
  10. Laminate Nightmare on Perf

I'm a long time user of Oracal 290F but recently got a roll of their 297 which is also optically clear but thicker. It helps reduce the squeegee strokes. 'Work as fine as 290F. Gabagoo, the 290F is like $15 more than regular 290G at my source so that's not worth getting both rolls. I use...
  11. Need Help with a Font

Just throwing an idea: I think I've already seen this font in Gerber's font catalog. Maybe you can take a look that way...
  12. Horizontal vs. vertical paneling

It also depends on what's printed. If you print horizontal and have text / logo or fine details to line-up, you may face some issues. If you stretch your main panel, even just a li'l, you will cry trying to match the upper one. If you can cover the whole area in 1 horizontal panel, then you...
  13. Fixing bubbles/tenting...

All my jobs run out of the shop perfect but 6 months after, they all show similar bubbles as you report. So I questioned myself what's wrong with the installation process. 'Asked others at sign shows, 'looked around to other wrap jobs I can look upclose to find out it's "normal issue". I'm...
  14. How do you manage an employee who knows more than you?

'Sounds familiar like my wife's PMS... Take a breath guys!
  15. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

Not only looks great but work great too. They're made in NZ but were distributed by a scafolding co. in BC (Canada). www.scissordeck.com *They no longer sell the product you seen on my picture but they have developped a similar system.
  16. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

    What's wrong?
  17. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

Yeah, it's mine otherwise he would had picked one in his line-up. To be honest, my van suffered from pulling it 'cause this one's not "feather-light" so to speak. I have the small 3.3 with basic transmission, not the 3.8 with liquid cooled transmission. Not made for that purpose...:noway:
  18. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

I didn't have the time and didn't wanna get my fingers to the blood trying it. I work alone here and there's no money to get me remove old baked vinyl...
  19. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

Here's the trailer outside with new graphics. Sure the old one had more impact but client's request was simple & clean so I listened... :Canada 2:
  20. 3M 1080 for total cover-up

A good customer of mine had this distressed trailer to revamp. I did it 10 years ago but last year someone washed it with very aggressive cleaner and ruined the job. Anyway, he had decided to "divorce" with Suzuki so the occasion was perfect to take it out of the picture... So the owner...
