I'm asked by the local HD dealership to recreate this logo for an old "limited edition" bike they are actually repainting. Decals no longer available to they ask me to do it. Beyong that, I don't feel I'm in trouble. I'll let 'em handle the copyright issue...
I've seen somewhere on Signlab's promotional videos that they have a «plug-in» or something embedded in the software to convert the raster bevel into vector (editable).
Can you confirm this? If so, will it turn into something like this?
In such situation, I usually offer the client to redraw the rough sketch with a sharpie so that way we get nice contrasting line to vectorize. Sure, it looks more cartoonish but at least there's something to do with it later it the process...
Damn, I hate it when the numbers aren't aligned and designed with the same specs as letters... I know the guy wouldn't take it "as it" so it forces me to do some magic in order to get a smile instead of an «angry bird» face...
Thanks Fred. 'really thought I have it somewhere but after searching hi & low in my font library, 'had to download it from the net.
'Appreciated.:thumb:
Here's a font I need to match in order to add licence # and such things of my client's rig. He went to another shop for the doors last year but the guy left the business.
The blue letters...
I know that font... :frustrated:
Thanks
I'm with you Colorado.
I'm doing PPF here on regular base along with car graphics. 90% of the customers are rolling in with brand new cars so we just install the protective film and roll out happy but the other day, a guy came in. I knew I've seen it before. He asked for PPF on the entire...
I print on silver metallic (cast) on regular base. The ink of my Roland are kinda translucent so I can use silver met. to create a bunch of new metallic colors (Candy Apple-like). 'Prints fine but you just need to make sure there's no contaminant. On new rolls, it's pretty safe as no human...
3M 7725 (ElectroCut serie) is a very good vinyl for small caracters.
I do the "freezer" step which is also a great way to shrink the vinyl enought to get a nice white line around the letter. That works good with calendred.
Plotter settings / blade sharpness are also mandatory.
I do that kind of job on weekly basis. I would print / lam / cut everything. One decal to install ---» faster
As for print/cut registration, 100% accuracy is almost impossible as the vinyl moves back & forth on various distances BUT the easiest way to avoid issues is to simply create an...

Yes, he'll learn today...:banghead:
Some box trucks have fiberglass wall panel, one shot, no split. Some have 48" strips of thicker aluminum mounted with adhesive, no rivet. Some (most of 'em) have limited quantity of rivets and usually they are a li'l bigger and finally the aviation-type like this one which have rivets every 2"...
As I type, he has ruined the 1st strip due to the static charge that turn the adhesive of the 3651 (even with RapidTac) into welding as the film touch the panel...
Major wrinkles everywhere (unrecoverable)... ...and this is just the 1st strip!

No way I'm gonna pull my hair trying to apply unappropriated film to a riveted box. He will do it in front of me with his helper. Anyway, he first asked me to do it because at the 1st scheduled date, he was going to be in Mexico to relax but as the customer finally opted for another type of...
*** update ***
Here's the latest:
My friend's client got his boxtruck 4 weeks sooner than expected because he rushed his dealer so this one asked another dry box mfg to get it in a hurry.
The truck arrived yesterday at my friend's place. The shop had already printed the whole kit according...
