  1. Graphic Design teacher help

In addition to Adobe... I believe Apple offers education discounts as well do they not? Might be worth checking into! +1 on the Mac platform!
  2. flexisign software

I typically wouldn't comment on a statement like this, but I'm really curious what kind answer you were expecting to get, coming to a forum like this and asking where you can pirate this software illegally? And... from a company that is a merchant member here... Did you really think that people...
  3. Anyone using 440 cc Inks in their Roland?

I use 440's and can't say that I have experienced this. I've taken mine out and put them back in and have never had it reset the fill levels either.
  4. REALLY getting tired....... Nodes are eating up my time !

In X6, go to Window>Dockers and Click Color Palette Manager In the Palette Manager click Palette Libraries > Spot > Roland > Roland Versaworks This palette has CutContour defined. So select the object you want to cut, right click on the palette swatch that says "CutContour" and export your EPS...
  5. REALLY getting tired....... Nodes are eating up my time !

Just curious... why is Flexi or Photoshop in the work flow? I have a Roland VS-300 and I do all my art in Corel, export as either EPS or PDF and open it in Versaworks and print.

  7. Hairline in X6 is showing as 2 lines in wireframe view

whoops... looks like I missed your reply! Good to see it was corrected!
  8. Hairline in X6 is showing as 2 lines in wireframe view

When you say it's making two cuts... is it cutting the exact same line twice, one on top of the other? As indicated above... unless you converted your outline to objects, the line weight in Corel should be irrelevant.
  9. Double Sided Print

I try to use Oracal products whenever possible, but I’m wondering if such a product exists that is a printable “blockout”… but in a white/white configuration? I understand that the typical blackout used is black/white to achieve the opacity, but is there a printable white vinyl with clear...
  10. New Olive Garden Logo...

I think that's probably why I was never a big fan of it... it looks old. I understand that was likely the intent, but I was never really drawn to it. A refresh as you say, to bring it current, might have been better than a redesign!
  11. New Olive Garden Logo...

Apparently Olive Garden decided they were in need of new branding... and according to this story http://consumerist.com/2014/03/03/olive-garden-touting-its-new-logo-as-the-symbol-for-its-brand-renaissance/ they've decided on the one attached... I'm not a fan of the old one personally, but the...
  12. Roland Soljet Pro4 XR-640, printing white and then red on clear

Is the red fine before you apply it to the silver? I'm just wondering if it's because of the lack of opacity in the white, and some of the silver is "darkening" the red... showing through? Maybe do the 2 Pass as suggested and see if it looks better...
  13. Speaking of building things...

    Thats a nice desk!
  14. New Work Table

He should sell those to be broke down and shipped as a kit, and reassembled once delivered. Looks very well put together and sturdy!
  15. Cutting software question

I can't speak for anyone else in this forum, but it's all I have ever used in the last 15+ years. Also, the place I just left has 22+ designers all using CorelDraw. You can head over to CorelDraw.com also that is a Forum of Corel users... lots of people in there!
  16. Cutting software question

As with most software, there will be some issues upon release of a new version... but nothing that doesn't get resolved with an update or two. Corel works great for me on Win 7... and I am using the 64 bit edition, which works great as well. There are a few flavors for purchasing Corel now...
  17. Cutting software question

Sure does... from the application launcher menu after Cutting Master has been installed! I'd recommend CorelDraw X6 personally for your new win 7 machine.
