  1. How can I disable my SharpCut's safety sensors?

We bought a used one, when we got it to the shop iI noticed the previous owner had just taken off the reflective rectangle piece and taped it face to face to the laser piece, which worked.
  2. Print-Cut Graphics on a Rock and Roll Crate?

If you don't want to take out a second mortgage to get the alumigraphics, you could try 3M IJ39, Avery 2126, or Arlon 8000. All of these are hi tack options that usually stick well to LSEs.
  3. Advice on media for unlaminated decals for a new latex owner

Take a small scrap of coro or another board, maybe 1"x4", and wrap adhesive loop velcro around one end of it. VHB that little piece to an open spot on the blade carriage just at the point where it barely rests on the vinyl. Now everywhere the blade goes, this little piece of soft velcro will...
  4. Banding in cyan only, Mimaki JV5-320S

This looks like ink cross contamination. Yellow is getting in the nozzles after you do a cleaning. My guess is you don't have a good seal between the cap and the printhead. Try doing the capping station adjustment to make sure your caps are making good contact with the heads. Make sure your...
  5. Onyx question.

If you are running two of the same printer from onyx, try naming one of them something different. I had a similar issue with two Mimakis that went away after I gave the printers different names. It may or may not work, easy fix worth trying though.
  6. Latex Printers

We have an HP Latex 1500, 3200, and 360. What I like about them is the ease of maintenance and near perfect color matching between all three (with tight color management processes). My only real complaint is there are still a lot of materials out there that are not "latex printable". Various...
  7. HP Latex - Color Consistency and Print Head Life

Right on both counts. Keep your profiles calibrated at least monthly + every time you change or reseat a printhead. I'm getting perfect color matching on across a Latex 1500, 3200, and 360 doing this.
  8. Best protection for ACM outdoor signs?

For a long term outdoor sign, print and mount to the ACM using a good quality cast vinyl and overlaminate.
  9. Laminating Digital Printed Signs

We have had an FB500 and FB700 for years and have had no trouble having ink adhere to aluminum and different brands of ACM, although it does scratch easy. That being said, I don't recommend it for long term outdoor signs. A good cast vinyl/cast lam mounted will last years longer outdoors than a...
  10. Color Question

Short of doing lots of trial and error, the easiest way to get close would be to get the sherwin chart or book, then print a large pantone chart on whatever material you're using and pick whatever matches closest. Keep both charts for later use.
  11. Need Help General Misery with Backlit

I'm assuming you are using the same profile on both computers and all the same settings. If so, try recalibrating the profile on your main computer. Export the profile and import it to the other computer. Your results should match.
  12. Need Help General Misery with Backlit

Meaning you have onyx on two computers (thrive?) and are getting different color results from the same printer?
  13. Need Help HP Scitex FB550 black printing with fuzzy/splattered edges

This is likely the problem. We have had the same problem in the last 3 months. HP admitted they had massive amounts of ink problems with a recent manufacturer. Get a new box from with a later date on it and empty and refill the heads.
  14. Need Help Applicator table

Make sure whichever one you buy has enough downward pressure to fully apply laminates. The brand we bought will not fully stick laminates on prints as hard as our seal base laminator. If we sheet lam prints on our roller table, you can press on it with your finger and see the spot, which is...
  15. Discussion Perforated Window Vinyl - Best for flat panel windows?

We usually use Clear Focus products. Classic Vue or Image Vue depending on what hole ration you want. Just run it on your normal adhesive profile. For printing on a Latex, make sure you order the version that has a solid paper liner or the edges will curl up while printing. Lam with...
  16. Two Sided Vinyl Printing

I have 2 HP scitex flatbeds and 3 different latexs. They are not capable of consistently achieving that kind of tolerance. Sometimes I will get perfect registration front to back, but again, not reliable to more than maybe .25"
  17. Double Sided Lawn Sign Printing on FB700

You can usually order square cut coro for maybe $1 more/sheet. The amount of trouble it saves attempting other methods is worth it.
  18. Need an opinions on this printer

We have an HP Latex 280, 360, and 1500. Most of the time they run great, but I would recommend a service plan after your warranty runs out. My biggest criticism is their unreliable service, even with the plan in place. They have poorly trained service techs, are often out of stock on parts...
  19. Ink Rubbing off Fabric Transfers

It is a polyester canvasy type material. We use it for tents because it is waterproof. We imported directly from overseas. It is very similar to Soyangs ST-302.
