foamcore is based in canada, looks like they got some great stuff. https://www.foamcore.ca
  2. US Tariffs, Sigh!

yes. approx. $133billion annually. i'm sorry this is so hard for you. by comparison, from 2016-2020 we were only raking-in ~$4billion annually from them via tariffs, and didn't change much the four years after that. ...in total, already more than the cost of the wall. and now, its approx...
  3. US Tariffs, Sigh!

they did, they are, and idk where you getting your eggs but mine are cheap if only we could power the world on TDS, and we wouldn't need the sun.
  4. Need Help I NEED HELP WITH A CARTOON/LOGO OF CASPER THE GHOST

whenever i needed something awesome drawn-up, that I couldn't do myself, I would ask some of my tattoo artist friends to do a commission at their leisure. $100 goes a long way when you don't hold them to a deadline.
  5. Question About Wrapping building Columns

overlap is best for longevity, i'd be wrapping each "face" with a 1/2" wraparound to the sides, and then cap the sides slightly trimmed-in from the corner. if those metal guards are staying on during the wrap then just wrap over them and trim to their edges and tuck around.
  6. Question Are you currently using digital lamination film in your print process?

20"?!? ewww i thought their leather textured laminate was pretty neat, but I'm a size queen. we do it BIG here in 'murica
  7. Golden Ratio

16pt headline/logo, 10pt subtext, and scale it up to max out your alotted sq.ft. permitted.
  8. Suggestions 30" Vinyl

ah bummer. in a pinch, i'd suggest Grimco's Briteline housebrand, Briteline Duration 3200. Comes in 30" with clear adhesive. Good stuff for cheap. I use the durationX for my intermediate vinyl, but that's grey adhesive.
  9. Suggestions 30" Vinyl

do they do they still supply 60" rolls? can always get them cut-down. we have a specialty tapes supplier in our region that cuts-down 48" rolls of double-sided red acrylic tape to 1/4" increments.
  10. Question Are you currently using digital lamination film in your print process?

OP is just in marketing for her UK based laminate supplier, Gif curious whom they source from, as I've never heard of the brand before but they seem like a larger supplier than for your typical wideformat printer.
  11. How long does a sign last?!!!

this sign turns twenty next summer! 3M cast trans vinyl still holding up but the polycarb is a bit yellow'd and the LEDs are noticeably dimmed. used to be the largest four-faced clocktower in the world, until the Saudi's out-did us in 2010.
  12. new Mimaki CJV 200

from a consumer standpoint: if its better, let it rip! i would pay more for a higher quality product. from a producer standpoint: if its better, let it rip! i will price it accordingly, assuming ~7 year obsolescence. edited to add: i could still be making signs on my mimaki jv3 if i needed...
  13. US Tariffs, Sigh!

solid reminder that the undercutters don't pay taxes. we should all aspire to be so bold.
  14. Is it worth making this in-house?

polycarb should be fine, for me its actually ideal on larger faces. yes its the same as an acrylic letter face ....EXCEPT you cannot use the regular channel letter weld-on glue for acrylics as it won't bond to the polycarbonate. we use the weld-on 58 two-part polyurethane adhesive. and the face...
  15. Need Help Red turns to black or dark blue at random

yikes! that is random! was expecting to see some sort of ink dropout, but looks like the printhead decides to fire all colors at once at random. possibly a dirty encoder strip or a piece of lint/cathair on the encoder sensor? else it could be an issue with one of the ribbon cables starting to...
  16. Need Help Red turns to black or dark blue at random

post pics of the issue, and of your nozzle test print.
  17. Is there a way when I run out of material to start where the job left off?

there are online calculators for this if you need. link here which is based on the formula: L = (D² - d²) * 0.785 / T where L is the remaining length, D is the outer diameter of the roll, d is the inner diameter of the core of vinyl (or the cardboard core outer diameter), and T is the...
  18. Is there a way when I run out of material to start where the job left off?

i mean, technically you can just run a tile of the remaining portion you're trying to finish but it will have a seam in it
  19. Trying to match an odd blade mount bracket

looks just like simple Uchannel screwed into the wall and then anchors drilled through the sides to hold the acrylic.
  20. US Tariffs, Sigh!

    new tide pod challenge incoming.
